Fooling myself in my dreams

Ok, this is something I've never done before, pulled the wool over myself. Heres what happened:
Last night, I dreamt I was myself, working in a large retail store with a large cast of coworkers (this much actually relates to my life). One female coworker was known for her low self esteem and always being miserable, and (despite the unprofessionalism) I was discussing her plight with one of the customers. This guy looked like a complete textbook nerd, in fact he looked almost exactly like that chap from The Proclaimers*, only his glasses had more massive frames. He was a really cool guy. Anyway, suddenly a time lapse because I'm standing in the street holding a newspaper, reading the headline "Local youth throws self off bridge" (or something to that effect). I immediately thought of my dream-coworker, but then glanced at the photo beside the article and it was the dude I had been talking to in the store! Whoa...
I then awoke experiencing a sensation of genuine suprise - I had just pulled a plot twist - on myself. I totally didn't see THAT coming.

Just thought I'd ask: anyone else suckered themselves while dreaming? It certainly odd, to say the least.

Those are the dudes from the Proclaimers in case you don't know.

There's always weird shit going on in my dreams. I don't know if any of it would qualify for your query, though.

My dreams don't have plots...
Well they do, but it is as if my mind couldn't deside on one plot.
Placed all the plots in a blender, and then tried to build one plot from the plot juice.
I have woken up suprised, but not by such a twist.

I sometimes have weird things like that happen in my dreams when I disturb my sleep patterns--like, when I know I have to get up early the next morning.

On Saturday night I set the alarm clock for 4:30 to get us up to go to the airport on Sunday morning. Some time during the night I dreamed that the alarm went off (though it sounded a little funny), I got up, showered, we grabbed our stuff, and got out the door. At some point I sort of halfway woke up and realized I was still in bed and was COMPLETELY disoriented. I think what did it was how NORMAL the dream seemed....

I have the wierdest and most non-sensical things happen in all my dreams.

I remember one about a car sliding into the road, and getting smashed by a truck, and suddenly being in a supermarket.

Personally, my dreams never make sense. Once, just once, I had a psychic dream, but that still made no sense.

The other day, after having some problems with my new Linux install, I dreamed about what went wrong, and I actually solved the problem in my dream. When I woke up I was thrilled except when it relly hit me, I hadn't solved anything, but it seemed so real!

So, who was talking about being a dork earlier, I think that seat is reserved for me.

Oh, and I came up with a brilliant thesis for an essay a couple of years ago, which turned out to be so funny that I actually WOKE MYSELF UP with my own laughter.

Shit, dreams rock, just don't plan your life around them, they are fairly, um, unreliable.

Peace,

Pierre
