I am originaly from Alvin, Tx which is where Nolan Ryan lives, so I have seen and talked to him at several restaraunts and stuff like that. And one of my friends used to live like 3 houses down from him. Hes a cool guy but i wish he would have done more for the town. I know its not required but the town had to cancel a little league baseball season because they did not have enough money to replace rotting light poles.

I got a hug from Martina Hingis at a tennis tournament

I also got in a lengthy conversation with Tyrone Noonan from George at a record store, and you can't live in Perth for long without seeing Heath Ledger once or twice. First time I saw him, he was perving on a friend of mine

Don't know how...don't know why...but that somehow just doesn't surprise me one little bit.

GWBush at Governor's Christmas party in Austin-I was set up with the sister of a friend of mine's date. The sisters' father was, I guess, a big shot, and that's why we got to go. We joked about West Texas and new england boarding schools.

Guy from Dawson's Creek that's not Dawson -can't remember his name-at a bar in New Orleans. My wife started talking to him. My wife also knew the guy that was a lacrosse player on American Pie, Kevin Klien or Kline or something, in college.

My friend from college was on an episode of Walker, TX Ranger!
Other people I knew in college were on Survivor and that show where the guys wore masks and the girl picked them. My friend was the only normal one out of them all, and he didn't get picked.

Pat Green -got to know him at George's bar before he was big

Didn't really meet them, just interacted with them:

Clinton at state of the Union -the one where he held up a card and said that every American would have one and have access to health care-I was a congressional page at the very back and I just had a long arm I guess. My parents back home saw me on ABC.

Poppa Bush at Republican convention in 1992 when I worked at the convention center as a summer job, shook his hand.

Hakeem Olijuwan -our choir sang the national anthem at a Rockets game, and as we were walking on, the teams were still warming up. A ball was rolling toward me, I picked it up, and looked, and there was Hakeem, looking at me, so I passed it to him.

Nothing too exciting

I met Bill Gates about 10 years ago.

An application I developed was selected to show at the Microsoft booth at Comdex. Bill came around shaking hands and meeting with each of the presenters. He didn't spend much time at my display. Probably because I wrote the program in Borland C. Philippe Kahn (Borland's CEO at the time), however, stopped by and chatted with me for a long time.

I've met Andrew 'Dice' Clay once. we were at a college fair which was connected to a hotel downtown and he was playing in town that night, we happened to bump into him.
I've also met all the members of Barenaked ladies and Cowboy Mouth (Who're they?) several times. I also 'met' Robin Williams once when we decided to hang out outside his hotel waiting for him to come out on his way to a gig, and then being swarmed by about 20 autograph seekers.
My Buddy, on the other hand, a 'professional autograph seeker' ('grapher) has probably met every professional wrestler and baseball player you can think of. (At least I was impressed when I saw his collection)

That is all.

I live in Orange County, California (save the cheesy TV show jokes) and I meet and run into "celebrities" all the time where I live. The little hole in the wall bar, walking distance from my house, is the regular drinking spot for a lot of known people like musicians from Kotton Mouth Kings, Lit, Papa Roach, and some other random bands. Also a lot of pro skaters and bikers will stumble in there to hang out. I met Randy Couture (he is an Ultimate Fighter who is fighting Tito Ortiz Sept 26th for the championship title) and is suprisingly a likeable nice guy. For anybody who is a skatebarding fan, last night Jonus Wray bought me 2 'shoot the roots' at the bar .

I also have season Laker tickets (Hal has seen pics of my sweet seats ) and for anybody who is star struck, a playoff laker game is the place to be.

I used to play tennis with Pat Green (Country Singer) when we were in the 10-15 year old range.

I've thrown down more than a few beers with Shannon Elizabeth in high school. Her name back then was Shannon Fadal but she dropped her last name and is now using her middle name as her last name.

I met Marily Manson back stage at a Nine Inch Nails concert back in 92 or 93 before he was popular. He opened for NIN and I thought he was disgusting. He had some long dildo-looking thing in his leather pants that was approx 24 inches long that he kept swinging around.

I was sitting on the riverwalk in San Antonio and Kevin Costner passed by with his kids and wife.

I said hi to Sinbad (the comic) in an airport once.

I've been to alot of concert and have been backstage a ton so I know there are more I am forgetting.

Mostly old science fiction writers, Ronald Reagan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Reagan: got his autograph and a hearty handshake back in the'70s at a Boy's State convention in California. Actually don't like him, but he had real balls: stood up and told a crowd of 1000 horny high school seniors that abstinence was the only real birth control. We knew a master bullshitter when we saw one, and gave him a standing ovation. His hair was orange from a bad dye job.

The old science fiction writers:
Harlan Ellison (several times)
Robert Silverberg (house sat for him once, my wife and I slept in his bed)
Roger Zelazny, Michael Moorcock, Poul Anderson, Greg Bear, Fritz Leiber (a real gent, visited him at home), Theodore Sturgeon (he had a goat on his lap), Jerry Pournelle (drunk both times), Heinlein (just a handshake), William F. Nolan (wrote the original book "Logan's Run") and a bunch of others who may possibly be famous now but I stopped reading sf 20 years ago and wouldn't know.

Arnold I met at the grand opening of a gym in my home town. He was buddies with the gym owner, old time bodybuilding champ Dave Draper, who I do know fairly well.

Walter Mondale : congratulated him on a speech he'd just given, but that won't mean anything to you unless you were voting in the '80s or live in Minnesota. He has a limp fish handshake, by the way.

Performance artist Mark Pauline of Survival Research Lab. Went over to his warehouse once and he started up a few (moderately nondestructive) death machines for me.

Haven't met anyone even moderately famous in 10 years. Guess I don't get out much anymore.

Shania Twain = Both from northern Ontario, talked for 2 minutes.
Lene Nystrom = Signed an autograph (has the sexiest accent).
Good Charolette = From about 50 feet.
Sheryl Crow = HOT!!!
Gwen Stephani = Freaking ass!!! Wanted the whole terminal cleared so she didnt have to deal with fans.

And Jean Cretien (Prime Minister)
Mike Harris ( Former Ontario Premier)

That`s about it!

Living here in Richmond, VA doesn't afford one the luxury of seeing or meeting many celebrities, but I've met and hung out with a few.

Anthony Hopkins
Julianne Moore
Dave Matthews and the band (actually hung out with them all day and night before they were big)
Ben Affleck - was actually down to earth
Sandra Bullock - she was fun...and loves to dance
Penn and Teller
Everclear
Zoe Britton (adult/exotic dancer)

George W. Bush - met him at the ESPNZone in Baltimore when they used to do the live pre-show/halftime show on Monday Night Football. He was at the table next to my wife and I and some friends. We were there watching the Cowboys/Giants game. He was nice.

Frank Gifford - same event at the ESPNZone. He was standing near the bar and when my wife was getting a beer. She said hi but he didn't respond to her and shrugged her off. Needless to say...prick.

Chris Berman - again at the ESPNZone...extremely nice and loves his beer. Hung out and talked to him for a while and slung one back with him. Really big guy as well.

Jason Mraz - singer with a pretty modest hit on the radio these days. He's from the Richmond area and was crashing at an apartment across the hall from my brother. Met him right before his record came out. Pretty cool guy.

Lil Kim - short is an understatement. She actually has a funny sense of humor.

Sean Barber - linebacker for the Chiefs. Met him when he was with the Skins. He is good friends with one of my old co-workers and was in the office/radio station hanging out. Told him I was a Cowboys fan and thought the Skins sucked. Needless to say, I had a nice bruise on my arm. All in fun of course.

Fat Joe - yeah, he's fat.

Various country music stars...but I hate country music, so I couldn't tell you who they were.

I've actually met Colin Powell and Oliver North in an official capacity.

When I lived in L.A., I saw celebs all the time. A short list:

Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Linda Hamilton (while filming T2)

Betty White (Golden Girls). She smiled and waved back.

Magic Johnson

Sylvester Stallone (surprisingly short in real life)

Henry Rollins (I shook hands with him, but didn't really get to talk to him. He seemed pretty cool.)

Axl Rose, when GNR were extremely popular (Personal note: Quite possibly the biggest asshole walking the planet. Not at all nice to the people who were handling him at that particular moment, and just plain rude to his fans who just wanted his autograph. Sure, everyone can have a bad day, but this could possibly help explain why not many people buy GNR albums anymore).

I saw Richard Simmons in the airport in Charlotte, N.C. a month or so ago. Ten minutes later, I saw Arn Anderson (WWE wrestler). Talk about going from one extreme to another! They were both in a hurry, and I don't collect autographs anyway, so I left them alone. However, Richard Simmons was gracious enough to stop and sign autographs and talk to a few people.

I met Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton and Jessica Corbin at a Screen Savers taping in July in SF. They were all super nice people.

I have met several local celebs in New Orleans. I've met Paul Prudhomme more than once. I have also met Emeril Lagasse (nice guy). I have seen Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails around a couple of times but never met him.

I have never actually met John Goodman, but I know his wife and her family.
