Me and my girlfriend had a good chat with Glen Plake one evening at the London afterparty for the women's snowboard movie Dropstitch.

I took the piss out of him for hating on boarders but he's a riot. Had a good laugh with him and his missus.

My [ersonal favorites because they are the leaders of my favorite ROCK band: the Davies Brothers Ray and Dave. Met them each on their solo tours though. Both very very nice men. After Dave's CLeveland concert back in '03, a group of us went to Denny's and lo and behold his band (Jim Lespesa, Jonathan Lea, and Derek) came in so we all sat together and had a great evening.

While in Phoenix met with and talked to Alice Cooper, actually played golf with him, extremely nice man, very funny.

Met a very big rock star, a good friend of mine was sponsored in AA by him. He is very religious about AA and if you meet him in that capacity that IS the only way you meet him, not as a rock star. In fact he will get pissed if you talk anything but AA in that capacity.

Attended some of the same meetings in Phoenix as several other stars but anonymity rules.

Grew up in Lexington Ohio with Mid-Ohio Race Car Course practically in my backyard. Kiwanis worked the gates and such, and as my father was a member I was able to work the gates also, so I met a lot of big name CART racers, Bobby Rahal, Rick Mears, etc. Also a couple actors Newman, Redford, Letterman.

I also have met golfers as in the 90's before my parents divorce my dad was doing the excavating work on golf courses. My 2 favorites were John Daly, can be an ass, but nice guy, and the late Payne Stewart, dad worked with him on a few jobs.

One of my neighbours is a famous NHL player. Great guy.Another is a famous writer. Recluse. Down the street is a politician and doctor who are famous in their respective fields.

Also have many famous musician friends who come by from time to time for a bbq or to shoot the shit or jam. Whatever the day dictates. Not dropping names though.

Lady Margaret Thatcher at a dinner in London. Shes getting on a bit for sure but just being in presence of someone who has accomplished so much was sobering to say the least. Ok so shes probably not a generally accepted 'famous person' but I still consider it an achievement.

She most certainly is famous. Along with Reagan, she was hugely influential in the Cold War and the promulgulation of what later became known as "Reaganomics".

When you "accomplished so much", I hope you mean totally fucked up Britian though, right?

I respect her work ethic, but I have no time for her politics, economics or attitude.

In bootcamp in Chicago, me and some buddies went to Ditka's and met Richard Kline, Larry from Three's Company. He bought us a drink. Later that evening I didn't meet but saw, Melanie Griffin, Don Johnson, and Mike Ditka.

Back when W was still governor of Texas he came to a town meeting and I got a chance to go up for a meet and greet with him.

Stone Cold Steve Austin threw some beer on me. It was purely accidental but he looked right at me after he did it. I was like three feet from him.

Oksana Baiul (the ice skater)- She came into my store and I helped her, she didnt buy anything tho, Hillary Clinton gave a speech at my school...I didnt actually meet her tho just saw her from afar. If any of you have heard of the band "Rooney" I met all but one of the guys in it, it was pretty cool. Oh, and when I was in 7th grade, we took a trip to the museum of natural history and some kids said they saw Tim Allen, and when they asked for his autograph, he was not very nice about it.

So I've really only met 1 famous person. hehe

matt damon and ben affleck tie for most famous. gwyneth paltrow was standing there but i didn't actually talk with her. also met kevin smith.

the person i had the most contact with is woody harrelson, i attended a few yoga classes he was teaching several years ago. he was really nice, really touchy feely, but a nice guy. though he did get pissy with some guy who was trying to take photos.

i've seen quite a few famous people in person, but as a general rule i don't approach them.

The astronomer Carl Sagan. While I was a student at Cornell, I had walked into a dining hall right after some big science meeting was wrapping up there. I ran right into Carl Sagan at the salad bar and just had to strike up a conversation. The guy was just brilliant and amazing; I only spoke to him for a few minutes, but I was in awe.

Walking through airport at LAX international terminal....no one around but a grungy, dirty guy leaning against the windows near the counters...As I get closer, I see a beat up guitar case. As I get about 5 feet from him, it clicks....I say, "Hey Neil, I love your stuff" and keep walking...he replies, "Thanks man!"

Neil freakin' Young, baby!

Ok you guys may believe this or not....

Sometime like late November 1992 I dropped my Wifes parents off at the Atlanta Airport, they were going to Aruba for a Cruise. I waited at the gate with them when they boarded the plane I headed back down the isle to go back to my car. Well there was this couple walking in front of me, the girl was carrying a hand held baby seat/basket thing. She bent over to put the baby down and check on it and when she did I could see her panties... so naturally I looked... well her husband/boyfriend saw me checking her out and I caught his face... then a HUGE dude walking beside him gave me the Evil Eye so I walked on... the husband dude had stringy dirty blondish hair and he looked familiar... so I looked back... He looked me in the eye and gave me a little nod... then it hit me.. It was Curt Cobain... His videos were all over MTV and I recognized him... I smiled... he smiled... I decided not to be the typical fan and go ask for a autograph...

In retrospect I realized that the girl was Courtney and the big dude must have been a body guard or somethin.... I wish I had gotten an autograph now that he is dead... but I still remember that like it was yesterday... I was actually in the same place looking at the "god" of new music...
