I have a question for all those who think it's "a new low." What is your position on porn? I bring this up because to me, it is the same underlined issue.
These reality shows really upset people. They say that the participents are being degraded and the netwoks are capitalizing on them and their emotions and how disgusting this is. People have been saying for years how disgusting and digrating porn is, but it is a huge money making industry and not a hot topic for conversation. It's been years since I heard anyone talk about how outraged they are by porn.

By all means everyone should complain. And they shouldn't stop here. We should complain about the music we don't care for on the radio. As someone pointed out, if you don't like it, don't watch. the television netwoks are not going to do any better job making everyone happy than our politicians are. Worse shit than a tasteless television concept slapped the world in the face with its dick today. This ain't that bad in comparison.

Imagine in 500 years, when archeologists find the tapes of our television shows buried in the rubble of our modern society. Is this going to be bad TV? Probably.
Should we care? No. No one is forcing the people in this show to be in it. It's of their own free will they chose to join. It's of your own free will you choose to watch it or not. No need to get all upset about this, there are far worse things around the world to be upset about.

When I first heard about this show, I thought it was a fucking joke, but I can not believe its real. It wouldnt be that bad if the lady was just gonna be reunited with her father, but she has to guess? And to top it off, other people are going to try to act like they are her father just to fool he and win money? Horrible.

It's affirmed, I just saw a commercial for the show on Fox while watching some NFL football. Humanity has reached a new low.

I hate television. I only surf the net now at least I control what crap I view.

In France, they started airing these copies of "Joe Millionaire" re-named "Greg le Millionaire" with diff actors, same storyline and same bullshit.
I don't mind Starbucks poppin' up in Paris; Macdonald's saddens me a bit, though..

I hardly doubt that US television is setting any standard for international TV. These shows are ripped off of others shows all over the globe.

FOX is a terrible network. The only worthwile show on FOX is 24, without a doubt. Because it is all fictional. I hate reality TV. I dont want to see some douchebag pretend he's a millionare and fool everybody. I dont want to see how much weight the fat people can lose ONLY because they are being driven by money (they should want to lose it just for the sake of losing their weight, not because of bribes and a tv show). And I dont want to see a bunch of people 'stranded' on an island for awhile with no supplies and no technology, well except the cameras and crews filming them... go figure. You want to see REAL reality tv? Get a camera to follow me to work so America can watch me make your double cheeseburgers for minimum wage for 8 hours a night.

Tell us what is worse. And then prove that this shit is not all tied together. If you think this kind of shit doesn't matter you are wrong. People are just plain fucking stupid sometimes, and instead of trying to evolve, we just become more complaisant.

The ONLY reality show I watch is watching my two boys at play. Fox sports is great but none of the reality shows gets my vote.

The invention of reality shows itself is an aberration. Why don't people live their own lives instead looking at the fucked up misery of those tools on the TV?

The best form of protest is to watch.

Then write letters to the sponsors explaining how you saw their commercials during Show X, how you can't believe they would endorse Show X, and how you have lost faith in their Brand due to its association with Show X.

Edit: You could also consider complaining to the FCC.

Ooh, that's a good one. But instead of all of us having to watch that tripe, perhaps someone could take one for the team - watch it, then post what the commercials were. Maximum bang for the buck I should think.

I hope that this stupid idea will turn away all future shows that could do somthing like this and hopefully get rid of all these stupid shows that have already invaded my Television. Especially on fox.

Somewhere today a child had a school lunch and it was the only nutritious meal he will get today. Somewhere a child didn't even get the school lunch. Somewhere an insecure asshole gave his wife/girlfriend two black eyes and she has no idea what to do to get out of that situation. An old person somewhere is sitting in a cold dark room tonight due to not being able to afford to heat their home adequately. Someone may very well die from exposure tonight because they don’t even have a home at all.

I realize you were likely making some comment on the decline of our society, but bad television is hardly the root cause of it. And if we think we can blame TV for what is truly bad in the world, we are never going to solve any of our problems.

Assume? You bet your ass. Fox doesn't exactly have a good track record regarding these shows. The very concept of this show is wrong. I fail to see how any implementation of the show's premise is going to be good.

I wouldn't have to get bent over a table and raped by Fox to know I wouldn't like it. Yes, I can assume it's going to suck. Guess I'm just close minded.
