Promise Rings?

Anyone know where I can get ahold of some of those promise rings? They are in the movie 'Ladder 49' and my brother has one, but he can't remember where he got it. They are those little silver rings with the heart and the crown on them. Any help would be appreciated.

I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star!

Sounds like you are describing a claddagh ring -- which is a heart, hands and a crown - -they are the celitc symbol for Love, Loyalty, and friendship
and they come in all metals - mine is white gold - but they come in silver or gold too...

Any jewelry store would sell them, and 100's of places on the webwould sell them as well -- (the direction you wear the heart tells of your status - point of the heart worn facing in, means your heart is not available, heart facing out, means your heart is avaolable)

A promise ring is just a ring. Doesn't have to be what you describe. Kind of like how an engagement ring is normally associated with a big ol' diamond or cubic zirconia, but that does not constitute the only possibility for an engagement ring.

Suave is correct... in today's day and age, a promise ring is what you make it. I purchased an "I Love You" ring from a local jeweler that was fairly inexpensive and rather than being too flashy it just had several diamond chips in it.

In lieu of us being able to get married at the time, I gave it to my then girlfriend, now wife, and proposed to her about 1 year later... and were married about two years after that.

Of course, I did opt for the traditional "big rock" wedding ring, but only because my wife seemed to lean towards that traditional style.. Of course, the rock is only about as big as you can afford at the time... I got her princess cut diamond solitaire ring of about .57 carats.

Being the celtic freak that I am Dave bought the one I showed the picture of when we got engaged.....recently we found a very pretty "engagement" style ring set at Target for 60 bucks...silver like I like cause I dont like gold, and its a CZ...as I've said before I dont fancy wearing a piece of jewelry that A. costs more than my mortgage payement and B. could be money much better spent on a new four poster that we can tie each other too
