My wife has some of that shit somewhere. She orders it from some educational/scientific type company. A spoonfull makes quite a bit of the stuff; I'd like to get a boxcar of it.

OK took me a few minutes searching to find this but Dave Barry covered the Sno-Baller in his 1998 Annual Holiday Gift Guide! Here is what he had to say:

Quote:

It is a tragic but true fact that in this modern day and age -- an age of thrilling technological advances such as lasers, computers, cellular phones, pacemakers, motorized Pez dispensers, etc. -- many youngsters, right here in our so-called "civilized" society, are still forced to make their snowballs by hand.

But these barbaric times may soon come to an end, thanks to the "Sno-Baller." This amazing device, made of space-age plastic, enables your child to make perfectly spherical snowballs without having his or her hands come into direct physical contact with the snow. According to the manufacturer, Sno-Baller snowballs "explode on impact and don't hurt like hand-packed snowballs."

Just imagine the fun that your child will have when he or she goes out into the snow to play, and a snowball fight breaks out. While the other, disadvantaged, children are hand-making their old-fashioned, hard snowballs, your child whips out his or her Sno-Baller and begins making modern, non-hurting snowballs! What a peck of fun that will be for your child! Make sure you have something to read in the Emergency Room.
Damn I love his sense of humor.
