Mens electric shavers. Need a new foil..

I managed to lose the foil mesh to my Braun 7526 shaver and have been breaking out ever since I started using my Mach 3 again. Does anyone know of a store that stocks parts like this? I know I can get it online but I'm in a bit of a hurry.

Thanks for any info.

Hi,

Actually, I believe Target carries them. Give it a try. Also department stores should carry it too. (Sears etc)

If Target doesn't work, try: http://www.braun.com/na/services/rep...ggrooming.html

At the very least it should get you where you need to be to get parts.

I can confirm that most if not all Targets carry those. Bought one there myself just a few months back.

Awesome, I'm glad it worked out for you. Come to think of it, I need to go pick one out too. Actually, it's probably a good idea to pick up a couple so you won't get caught in a bind again. It's generally good practice to change the foil once a year or so depending on usage. Don't forget the cutter block too.

Now I have a question:

I lost my instruction manual to the shaver/auto-clean thingy. How do I do it? Do I simply insert the blue cleaner thing then run it or do I have to do other stuff too?
Thanks guys...

I think you just put it in the holdster, plug the arm into the bottom, and hit some button on the holdster thingy...Lol, it's been a while but I think it should be pretty simple

Ok, I'll be the village idiot. You're supposed to change stuff on an electric razor regularly? Hell, for the past few years all I've been doing is rinsing everything off after use and never really thought much about it.

Hey no fair! You can't hog the "village idiot" title to yourself, move over and share...It's all good, since we're men, I suppose we're all the "village idiot" right? You know, where-would-we-be-without-the-supervision-of-women and all that..hahaha!

Anyways, like most things, it's not necessarily a rule, rather it's a guideline. If the rinsing thing works for you (i.e.- no razor bumps, torn skin, chaffing etc) then consider yourself a lucky, lucky man man.

I must have stubble of titanium or sumthin', cause the blade always gets dull and stuff after 3-6 months of regular use.

My roomate finally changed his after he got a tear and a hole in the foil *ouch*. Don't ask me how he did that...I'm still tryin' to figure that out.

Maybe we should start a men's grooming thread...

Wait a minute: Gustoferson, if you never change the parts on the razor, I mean, your face must look like hamburger or do you have some super-shaving cream? My face hurt after I read your post. Cheers.

Thanks -Ever- for the lesson on shaver cleaner, I'll give it a shot. I hope nothing explodes...haha!

Yeah, at best guess I've had this same electric for around 4 years and haven't changed a single part on it so far, as I never realized I was supposed to! However, I only use my electric on the upper and lower lips and chin area, never could get it to shave closely on my neck or cheeks. I use my Mach3 (changing blades every month or so) for cheeks and neck. I also only use shaving cream for the Mach 3 areas, the electric stuff (which I do first) I do completely dry and then rinse afterward. 90% of the time I work it out to take a shower immediately after shaving, and by the time I'm out all the little cuts and whatnot are gone without forming any scabs or anything.

I do get some small nicks and cuts from both, usually more from the mach 3 on the neck but a few on the chin, but never thought about changing anything in the electric. I would post what kind it is but I'm at work right now and can't remember exactly.

I really really hate shaving, so I usually go a few days in between and deal with looking like a bum. It also doesn't help that I have a hard enough time waking myself up for work or class, and its even harder to try to wake up early enough to shave beforehand.

A men's grooming thread might be a good idea, for all the other helpless fools such as I who never thought about stuff like this. Where would it go, Living or Health & Fitness perhaps???

Ah yes, I too use the ol' Mach 3 and electric combo. I use the same method you described. It's good you change blades on the Mach 3.

I'm not too sure but I think the general rule of thumb is: shave with the electric before showering. Don't get your skin wet. It makes it easier to shave. Then, when using a regular blade like the Mach 3, it is ideal to do so either in the shower or immediately afterwards to minimize the nicks cuts etc. When finished, immediately follow up with aftershave, face cream type thing.

I dunno, perhaps we need a "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" forum.

I think if you properly maintain your electric, it should provide a comfortable shave. Enough so that you could do it almost daily before work/school etc. It should be a quick and smooth event.
