Energy Drinks
Anyone else drink alot of energy drinks? I work overnight delivering beer to stores, my crew somehow got addicted to energy drinks. We started with red bull but now its full on addiction to Monster. Sometimes we will try something differend and switch it up but generally monster claims us. We always talk about it and sometimes we will go a few days without a "Round" but during busy nights we will drink at least two of them. I'm not sure if they actually give "energy" anymore but the mind boost seems to do the drink on those nights that never end. Anyone else spend insane amounts of money on these things?

I drink vodka and Redbull quite a bit, usually toward the end of the night after several pints of Heinken or Guinness. I guess my stomach just isn't big enough to match the 10 to 12 pints my mates put away.
I used to drink Redbull "neat" during the day sometimes, usually when I was working long hours back in Ireland. Now, I couldn't stomach it and stick to coffee. Mr Mephisto |

I have never subscribed to the idea of energy drinks. Apart from tea and coffee to give a quick boost when tired, well that and the fact that they are my addiction (drug of choice).
Can't agree with RolandGilead, pills are in noway cheaper than coffee or (especially) tea if you make it yourself. Pills are surely worse for you than coffee or tea?! At least they are kind of natural wereas pills create chemical imbalances. I have one friend who swears by red bull but he still sleeps far more than me and seem to be much less active than before he started his obsession. He even has red ball when he wakes up that can't be good.

Red Bull is good. Rockstar Energy Drink, is my favorite. I bought a case (12) because I drink them at LEAST 3-5 times a week while I work (I am in advertising).
I cant find Rockstar in many stores, but damn I love it. Monster tastes like crap. The other one from Moutain Dew is ok...but still nothing tops a Rockstar or Red Bull. |

I was a Monster addict my last semester of school. I work full time and have 2 boys, so time is very tight. I did a great deal of studying at night and needed to stay up. Combined with stress from overload and maybe the drinks, by half way through the semester, I developed an eye tick. It drove me nuts, but it wouldn't go away. At the end of school, I went to the doctor and she told me to get rest and try to lower my stress level. I relaxed a bit and gave up Monster and about a month later, the tick went away. I sometimes wonder if the Monster drinks had anything to do with it.

Jones Energy Soda, you know, from the guys who brought you the Thanksgiving Holiday Package of Horrible Distaste.® Or just a glass or two of orange juice, perks me up after a hard day of bike riding...

am i the only one who energy drinks make you sleepy?
all the energy drinks taste kind of like tingly bubblegum to me aside from redbull which has a completely different taste, atleast from what i can remember of it. and ill agree with jager and redbull being the ultimate of drinks together, just over jager and beer. i do believe drinking a redbull in the middle of a drinking session will reduce hangover and have you waking up fresh, atleast it has for me in the past. |

And as I said, coffee is not the healthiest substance to digest. Of course caffeine is, like every drug, not healthy if abused. |

Campbells Invigor8...as in V8 or V8 Splash...comes in the silly little can like redbull amp stinger whatever
but is a blend of pear carrot apple juice with some extra vitaminerals tossed in for good measure. no caffeine and no whacked-out hippie herbal crap. just plain good stuff, not snake oil like most things in the little cans. I read somewhere that long-term excessive consumption of B vitamins can cause liver damage. that scares me...red bull has like 250% daily recommendation... |
