Hallucenagenic Mushrooms?
 

i have a friend who is interested in taking mushrooms but he is allergic to pennacyllin(sp?)... so i was wondering if he can take them or not, because i don't want his death to be on my conscience

penicillin comes from mold spores. Mushrooms may contain such spores.
I am allergic to penicillin and tried mushrooms twice over twenty five years ago.

Sicker than shit, a rotten buzz,and not worth the effort and I don't endorse the use at all. Didn't have an allergic reaction but the belly pain was far worse than the baby "trip" I received. Besides, wondering where the cow shit came from that the mushrooms grew on? just a thought........

Magic mushrooms (liberty caps) don't grow on shit, they grow in tufts of grass.
If you're picking your shrooms in shit, you're picking the wrong ones.

I haven't done them in years, but I did a lot and never had a sore gut.

My old girlfriend was allergic to penicillin and she ate lots of shooms with no ill effects. I'd still check out some more info if you are worried about it.

just to be safe he should have someone whose not doin the drugs keep an eye on him to get him medical help if he starts having an allergic reaction...

he should do that regardless of allergies, imo.

Mushrooms and LSD work in two completly different ways. 'Shrooms cause your neurons to fire inappropriatly when transmitting messages, causing changes in visuals and thought processes that really arn't too wacky (unless you get completly trashed), whereas LSD causes neurons to fire all over the shop whether they're meant to or not, leading to much more intense visuals and thought processes.
LSD also is a very unstable molecule, breaking down into several other LS molecules that produce different effects.

To the original post, maybe your thinking of psyocibilin? thats the active ingredient in shrooms, and is a very similar sounding word to penicilin. I wouldn't worry about any allergic reactions if thats the case.

I would err on the side of caution (as much caution that can be applied to drug use). There are plenty of other drugs to take that would not have the possibility of causing a severe allergic reaction. I cant imagine sitting in a hospital room shrooming out, to hell with that.

Ask a doctor? Might seem strange but it's better to be sure than to be second guessing. And you don't want to go into a shroom trip with any anxiety about a reaction and/or possibly dying. Not fun.

You're also looking at a 12-hour show starring You and Your Brain, as opposed to 4-6 hours with psilocybin mushrooms. LSD is kinda hardcore, as hallucinogens go--with a rather fried morning after, whereas the next day with mushrooms is relatively pleasant.

Not advocating, just informing.

As a warning, one of my best friends last year tried mushrooms for the first time, and nearly commited suicide... he was convinced that a bug was in his arm and started slitting his wrists, and he was a fracking huge guy, an ex-wrestler... so it took quite a bit of effort to hold him down (me and few others were sober at the time luckily). Since then he has wanted to try them again because he did really enjoy them im not really sure why... just make sure you wont hurt urself when ur on them... they arent the safest of drugs!

Damn that sucks. Never, ever, ever had anything like that happen to me or my friends. Keep razors away from him if he decides to try them again. For best results go out to nature, away from cities and other people. Too many bad vibes otherwise. Find a nice secluded spot and hike the day away. Good times to be had. and to whoever said think of the shit, most of them grow in wood chips over cow manure, and if they are home grown, which im betting they are, it would be sterilized to keep from contaminating the grow. but there is also a high chance of it been grown on something else other than dung
