TFP SoCal Meet-up in December!

Hey peeps, I was thinking it may be time for another meet-up. The last one we had at Marina Del Ray was fairly small, but still enjoyable. We all just hung out at the beach, cooked food and talked for a while. Why not do it again?

This time, I'm thinking we should find some place inside because it'll probably be in December. I think Orange County is still the best choice for location because it seems to be central to everything 'SoCal' - anyone have any ideas?

What do you think of one of these dates:

Dec 4th (Sat)
Dec 11th (Sat)
Dec 18th (Sat)

I wanna see everyone there. From San Diego to Ventura County (where I'm coming from) and everywhere in between.

I'll come! :) I have no ideas for a location, though. Not that familiar with what lies behind the Orange Curtain. :p I would also say the 11th is a good date for it.

OC? Given I don't drive, you can count me out. My spirit will be there with you guys, though! Wait a minute...I'm not dead yet...umm...I take that back! You can count my spirit out too!

I'm thinking I wish I could make it out there. :( Unfortunately work and distance kinda get in the way, but I'd be there if I could!

what's the average age of everybody posting here? the last final i took was in 1984. i'm an old fart.

Halx 11-07-2004 11:03 PM

that has nothing to do with this thread.. *sigh*

Supple Cow 11-07-2004 11:09 PM

I know I'm being greedy with the meet-ups, having been to a few in NYC, but if there was one in the middle of January (say, the 14th-16th) I would totally be there. Unfortunately for me, this semester is holding me hostage until December 23rd.

Halx 11-07-2004 11:17 PM

Well we could wrangle up some peeps just for your arrival, Supple Cow. I'll have the dessert buffet table stocked. We can watch "Chocolat." We can play Candyland. I'll schedule it for Sundae... err.. Sunday.

sounds like fun....I would be willing to help out with rides if needed. ( limited seating )
PS......I'm in Mira Loma......(which is spanish for "stinks like ass") :|

Halx, i didnt mean to go off course on the thread; I just wanted to know if i was gonig to be the only one 20 years older than any of the other attendees.

goddfather40 11-11-2004 07:44 PM

I'm in. I really don't have any suggestions as usual, so I'm open for whatever.

Don't sweat it. My college days ended 10 years ago.

the last day of finals week is the 15th.... so i'll be heading to bako on the 16th at the latest... possibly earlier... gotta double check when me and my friends finals are over...

if its happening on the 18th... i would definently be interested... especially if i could get a couple of the other bakersfieldians to share gas costs with... it is a bit of a cruise to that area from bako...

No ideas as to location. But if I'm not up north, we'll show up.

Mondak 11-29-2004 01:14 PM

Missed the thread.

I think I can swing the first and third weekend. The one on the 11th I'll be in Mammoth.

Another suggestion: how about a Thursday Happy Hour or something? So many times our weekends are spoken for (particularly in December) whereas the weekdays tend to be somewhat more free.

Sorry to chime in so late. Missed the thread.

Let me know where and when and I should be able to make it no problem.

Oh yeah and Mobo123 - I'm 30 and most folks who showed up last time were "of age" so I think we will be fine there for the most part. Not 100% of the time, but the younger folks on the board tend to lurk more and "meet up" less. Hope that generalization doesn't step on too many toes.

18th is best for me.

I HAVE to work on the other two Saturdays :(

goddfather40 11-29-2004 08:55 PM

Yep, the 18th would actually be preferred for me too now. I now have plans on the 11th, and obviously the 4th is too soon now.

goddfather40 11-30-2004 06:52 PM

Is this now a moot point due to Senor Hal's evacuation from California? Do we still want to meet up sans Hal?

Krycheck 12-15-2004 09:12 PM

Well with no reply in 2 weeks I'd say it's most likely dead. Major changes at work make it impossible for me to attend now :(
