lost brother from florida help plz

Ok granted the multitude of people on this forum, I would ask for help from some. If you could....

My wife's brother moved from Michigan to Florida and hasnt been heard from since the first hurricane. Knowing his personality, I dont take him for the type to vanish and to hell with everyone soooo...

what can ya do? my wife already called the state police about it. Should we call the red cross give them his name? sigh, granted they could be in a shelter (him and his wife) so i just dont know. ill be at work today so i cant check the reponses till i get back in...

for any that help thanks

his name is Roy C. Danford

The Red Cross would be a good place to start.

Do you have his address? You could ask the police to do a drive-by, and see if everything is OK.

Honestly no real advice from me. Maleficient had a good suggestion I think. I send good wishes that he and his family are, ok. Our Aunt lost her home completely but she was at safety when it happened. It took until almost two weeks ago to hear from her and that was because she drove up to Illinois to her other brother's place. I guess the phones down there are pretty messed up. Even the cell phones. Good Luck finding him.

My folks went temporarily missing after Ivan, and my sister located them with On-Star. Is there a chance your brother has it?

Clever. Never would I've thought of that.

Still...maleficent gives some escellent advice. Call the Red Cross to see if he's registered in a selter.

Y'all have probably already found this, but here's a link to all of Florida's emergency information concerning the hurricanes. There's a hotline at the top, and links to the Florida Red Cross about midway down, as well as a list of shelters.

My dad is down there right now with the Red Cross, he drives one of the ERVs (Emergeny Response Vehicles) and I guess they just drive all over looking for people. I would definately agree, find shelters in his area and call them, to see if he is there. Best of luck!

The first hurricane?.....Charley I assume you mean.

What town is(was) he in? A lot of areas are still without phone service.

There are no shelters still open from Charley along the west coast.

You might try an ad in the local newspaper if you think that might help. I see lot's of those lately.

Give us some more info and we will see what we can do.

Good Luck.
