This site has always been a lurker's paradise. When version 3.0 went down, we had over thirty thousand registered members. Pretty quiet for a site that huge, if you ask me. Most people just come for the Titty Board, but some stay long enough to get caught up in the rest of the forum. So far it's been an amazingly friendly place. I'm glad enough for that.

What's that phrase that keeps going around? Something like "Come for the porn, stay for the conversation." Sounds like we have plenty coming for the porn, and need more of them to stay for the conversation. Of course, I suppose it could also work the other way around...

part of the whole idea of this community is the "sharing" thing, but i don't think some people quite understand that "sharing" is a two-way thing, not just staring at boobies. sure, i stare at the boobies too, but usually after a stop in general discussion and the ladies' lounge. i think the active community members can set a good example for lurkers to follow, and if they don't follow it...they need to realize they are a drain on the resources of this community and may be removed from it.

Hal should make a regular thing out of what he did before, with the deleting of accounts with less than x posts.
Only difference is that people can just re-register again straight away, not like before, when there was a freeze on new accounts. Maybe the ultimate solution is make the titty board available only to members with > 100(?) posts..... -C.S. Flim

Well, the horny brigade would then just spam like mad to get free boobies. Regular Deletion of accounts with less that x posts sounds better, though I wager it's abit more work than just to have a postlimit for entering the titty board.

Don't you all worry your pretty little heads about this too much. We are on top of the situation a little more than you might think. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean its not happening.

I might be being dumb here, because I don't know much about networks, but would it be possible to allocate download bandwidth to users according to their post frequency or number of posts. Perhaps that would munch up more system resources than it would be worth, but it would certainly put a stop to boobie lurkers.

Erias, please post.
The community here is the best you will find on the Internet, and there are forums for everything you could want to discuss. It really is the "perfect forum."

There will always be lurkers. Especially when they are newcomers. TFP has a policy and they uphold it. The lurkers aren't around for long...they get caught in Wile E's crosshairs!
Those who are truly dedicated to this site and who want to be part of this wonderful community will post. Those are the postings we want here. Not random crap just to keep a foot in the door... Just my two pennies...

Prior to registering this time I was pretty much a TB only guy. I would comment occasionally on a post that I found particularly titeriffic. Thing is there seems to be a lot of interesting people and discussions going on around here. The wipe was a nice chance for me to start participating.

I rarely go to the TB anymore. Unfortunately I dont have any way to contribute, and most everything I have is already there anyway.
I am a sporadic member.. I come in every now and then when I find the time.. so my Post Count doesnt skyrocket, no avatar for me... but I enjoy my time here, and love the conversation, even though you need a degree in astrophysics to contribute to some of the stuff I have seen.

Don't worry about it folks. I am astonished at how fast we got up and running (member wise) over 5K in 48 hours is amazing. Yes we do have lurkers, but were working on that, and so are you by providing a community. Keep it up, thats all we can ask. |

I get real upset when I hear about lurkers. I mean, why can't people do a good thing and help out? I lurked for two weeks and decided that it was wrong to do after seeing the community devlope after it was hit by fark. It was hard to see it go down but now I feel more attached to it.

Well, I lurk on most message boards I visit. The main reason I do is it netiquette. You should always lurk for a few weeks, get the lay of the land, see how the community works, and get comfortable with the place before posting.
Of course, I'm like that in real life also, real quiet the first few times I meet someone, then when I am more comfortable, I can't shut up. |

I think that this is one of the best places to post. It's not a SIG nor does it seem or feel clique oriented. Yes, there are the old timers... which you will find over time now that everyone is brought back down to 0... (jeez halx... you didn't have to be so mad )
I enjoy posting.. sometimes I can get a good rant.. other time it's just a sentence..and of course it's sometimes, "nice tits!"

maybe the lurkers are just really considerate people who don't want to give the mods extra work?
at any rate, I find I start typing alot of posts, and halfway through I change my mind and just don't post it... Dunno why exactly, but maybe for lurkers it's even more so? (just speaking about the lurkers here, not the ones that come simply for the TB)

Well there are a lot of lurker's on the site which is fine maybe they havent seen something they felt like posting too. Which I dont see how they couldnt. Nor do I see why if they have been registared for over a year that they didnt. But I have seen a hand full of people that didnt post at all and came just to use the chat. I dont know if thats a good thing or not but they still are using something on the board.

maybe because of when i joined, the Titty board wasn't running.
andafter tike it came up(back), why not have a requirement set to get the titty board? like 200 posts or something?
