Who doesnt hate this guy!?
It seems everyone does.
just do a simple net search and there is serveral webpages devoted to hating him. People have actually spent time coding together a website for no gain at all except to get there point across!
This has brought me on to write an essay for school on why I hate him.
Its a five paragraph essay.

So is this about how much we hate Jared, or how much you hate him, or are you asking us to do your homework for you?

Hopefully I'm not of line when I say this:
I'm all for freedom of expression, and for creative assignments in school, but are you sure there isn't something more intellectual or challenging to write about? Are you sure you want to put all sorts of effort into writing an essay on how much you "hate" a man who has lost a lot of weight and become healthy, and an inspiration to many?

Perhaps he didn't do it all on his own, and perhaps his methods were a bit 'corporate whore'-like, and perhaps more people should realize that you can make healthier sandwiches at home for 1/10th the cost and the effort, and perhaps more people should realize that it's exercise, more than almost anything else, that helps you lose weight.

So do you hate Jared?

Or do you hate that the Subway corporation are downplaying exercise and promoting their sandwiches (bread, salad, meat, nothing new here) as some sort of magical mystical miracle? Do you hate that people can be sucked in to such an absurd concept, that eating Subway alone helps you lose weight (eating <b>healthily</b> and <b>exercising</b> regularly helps you lost weight).

Correct me if I'm wrong, and if this thread is just a humorous thread about how much celebrities drive us nuts then I'll back off, but if you're really asking about your homework, my suggestion would be to refine your topic as to why you hate him, or what you hate about what he did.

The disagreeable pastime of hating celebrities is a comment on those who pursue it and not on said celebrities. Perhaps something insightful might be a better instrument with which to conduct this project.

Jared was a guy who lost a lot of weight on what Subway calls the "Subway Diet". There was a controversy over the whole ad campaign when it was discovered that he used aids(personal trainers) to help lose the weight and not just eating Subway sandwiches. And so now there are apparently a bunch of people who hate Jared because of this. I personally don't care. So what if the guy got a coporation to help him lose weight and fell better about himself, along with making money from doing commercials.

IMO, people are wasting way too much brainpower trying to hate this guy. Do I think he pulled a fast one on us? Sure, but I know there is no way he could have lost the weight from just dieting on those sandwiches. Doesn't every advertising agency skip around the pertinent details on their products in order to make it more sellable? Nike doesn't advertise that they pay below ethical wages in their sweat shops. That wouldn't sell shoes. KFC doesn't show how the chicken gets from the chop shop to the dinner table. That wouldn't sell any chicken legs.

I hate him, I think he is annoying, I think he needs to go away, but I also think you should do a different topic for your paper.

dunno if this helps or not, but my father inlaw said to me , "looks like you lost weight", i responded with been eating subway (which was partly true, maybe once a week at the most). anyway, the bastard proceeds to have everyone, wrap my gifts, wrapped with subway paper (the stuff they wrap there subs in), i got a subway shirt..etc from him. grrr the funny bastard. guess he managed to get subway to give him some of there propaganda for the stunt.

oh and btw, i'm only 6ft 200lbs, not a mountain by any means. subway is fucking too expensive to eat at. and no green olives to boot!~

Yeah its not that I totally hate the guy, more the commercials. I guess I also hate the wendy's guy as well. I should do my topic on why I hate commercials, but that would be too easy.

I actually think jared is a nice person and good marketing success. Whats not to like about someone that lost 350 lbs. Gets asked to appear on oprah to discuss his wieght loss , then becomes a "famous" advertisement. I saw him on one of those network news shows on sunday night. He seems like a normal person that now has a podium to help children deal with weight problems. people need to stop hating everyone and everything. Seems like to be "cool" on the internet you must trash everything. (last sentence isnt directed at anyone here just generally speaking)

Were I a teacher and a paper with this topic crossed my desk, there is almost no circumstance in which it would recieve a passing grade.

I hate the Wendy's Guy too (the unofficial spokesman). But he is a character, and a bad one at that. Jared on the other hand is a real person, near as I can tell. Therein is the difference.

I don't hate him, I'm only marginally aware of his existence and I live less than a block from a Subway shop. He has zero impact on my life or my choice of sandwiches. What stands out to me more than anything else is that a tv ad is affecting your life enough that you would actually care one way or another, maybe that's what you should write about. You could do a compare and contrast to someone like me who doesn't even watch tv in the first place. What does affect me is the nasty smell coming from the front of said Subway shop every time I walk by. Yuck.

Completely agreed. And of the small number of celebrities that are worth disliking - i.e. those who abuse their position to spread their ignorance such as Barbara Streisand - I don't see this Jared guy fitting into that group. In fact, I can't even comprehend why someone would be bothered by some guy who does commercials so much so that they "hate" him, even if the commercials are extremely annoying.

Well Temp Use - so that you don't feel like an island out there alone... I went to see the documentary "Supersize Me" and they actually did a pretty nasty turn on Jared. Apparently part of his spokesmodel(?) duties is to go speak at schools about his wieght loss. Not so bad - but he preaches the ONLY SUBWAY chant ad infinum, which doesn't work so well for kids in the inner cities who can't afford Subway 2 or 3 times a day every day. Just saying if your going to talk health, talk health.

Id say he's happyier to recieve the money from subway then our attention, plus hes not fat anymore

If so, I saw him on Oprah or Sally Jessie Raphael or something once, he seemed mildly ridiculopus, but I wouldnt say I hated him, he deserves props for losing as much weight as he did.

I am pretty sure any rage someone might feel for a guy like Jared would be because they haven't gotten rich off anything so trivial as eating dry sandwiches and walking/exercising alot. I wish i could cash in on a daily routine like jerking off.

i cant stand conversations about commercials people hate. the only reason, is that it always brings to mind the levitra commercial, and i cannot STAND it. Im sure the people are good people, but i cannot tolerate the commercial.
