Sounds like your brother needs some serious help, i dont know where from, but from how you discribe it things definatly dont look good, i probably would of done the same as you, jerk or not as he needs something to change his course. Seems like the parents are a big fault of this, but i cant think of much to get him out of his rut so to speak, other than a complete attitude change from the people around him.

Well answered, sir! Yeah, I'd change that alias if I were you. PM Halx or Buddah.

If your brother were mine, I'd let him stew in it. While his parents led him this way, as you said, they can't fix it for him now. Only he can do that. Communicating with him as you posted won't do it. That'll only get him to rebel against you, even if it hurts him. That's just the way it works. I suspect you may have run into that with your own kids, no? Or perhaps you did a better job than your dad did. I hope so.

I did this with my own brother, who is much closer to me in age, the one time he tried to lay something he did on me, and he learned damn quick. I suspect yours will take longer, as he's been screwed up for a long time. It's sad, but I figure there's nothing you can do until he and his parents get a clue.

Seems like you have a great life, and if it weren't for the fact that its effected your relationship with your parents, I'd tell you to just let him figure his own life out. I'm lucky enough to have my first couple of university years payed for but I'm sure as hell not going to waste them. I'd kill for a free trip to Europe, and if I wasn't interrested, I simply wouldn't go and waste the money. Sounds like its mostly your brothers problem but with your parent's sheltering at fault.

Sounds to me like he needs a good, manual labor job. A four month trip to another country, man I'd be a different person. I might not even come back, if I were 22 again.

Your 22 year old brother has a NANNY!!! Oh dear god, please don't tell me she's a wet nurse too....

Does your brother have a job? Is he planning on getting one?

Now that would be a good question for his dad: "Is the nanny a wet nurse too? Does she change his diapers?"

haha sounds like strikingly similar to the prodigal son parable. The lesson from that story is this: Sure he may have blown some opportunities, but always be ready to welcome him back, if you arent, its you thats really lost.

Now that may not apply too much here, so philosophy aside, yes, he seems like a fucking loser.
