Dog poop in front yard.....policeman's dog
Hey everyone,
A policeman who lives at the end of my street walks his dog at night, a rottweiler. It's been pooping on mine and other neighbor's frontyard but we aren't sure what to do. How would you handle this situation? :( |
you could:
video tape such antics and present them to the owner. ask the person nicely to please curb their dog. problem is of course then you may wind up on the "policeman's shit list" and you'll have other issues. |
Tell him you'd appreciate it if he could either not walk his dog on your lawns or pick up the poop after the dog does his thing :)
|
If he keeps doing it, I'd report it to maybe the police station or something. The police station he works at. Give the owner of the dog's address (his), but don't mention anything about him being the cop that lives there. Let them look his address up themselves, and imagine the suprised look on their faces when they find out he is one of their own :D
|
If asking politely doesn't work, you could always scoop it up and redeposit it on his yard.
|
First, make sure it's his dog. I use to have a dog, we just let him out at 4:30 AM and he came back by 6, we never figured out where he was shitting. So, make sure that it's his dog.
If it's definitely his dog, give him back his shit. Everytime there's a load on your lawn, get a shovel and walk it over to his lawn. Honestly, I don't think I'd mind doing that for years at a time. Of course that all depends on how fresh it is when I scoop it. Either way, it's his to begin with, give it back to him. |
Or you could just put up a small sign that says "Please Stoop and Scoop" or something, and see if he gets the picture?
|
Start a fight with the cop.
|
yeah, put a sign on your lawn. "please pickup after your dog" and hopefully he will get the message
|
I think I'd go for something more peaceful, since we do want to keep the good chemistry in the neighborhood. I think I'll post a yard sign and see if that works.
Thanks all. :D |
Asking nicely doesn't work anymore. The pooper tends to get offended.
I'm all for flinging poo:D |
Put some peanut butter on it - let the cop's dog or another dog carry it away for you, hopefully while its owner looks on in disgust. After awhile, all the dog owners may avoid your part of the neighborhood.

Kinda makes you wonder though why they dont just run off with it anyway? I've never seen a dog that DIDNT eat shit. |
I think Todd had the best idea.
|
just start putting the shit in his yard, i hate it when people let their dogs crap in people's yards and don't pick it up
|
What Todd said.
Isn't letting your dog "soil" public/private land, without cleaning up afterwards, a crime? It is in Ireland and Australia. Mr Mephisto |
I'd fight the cop also. Or just scoop the shit and throw it at his house.
|
I like the sign idea. "This yard is a poo free zone"
signs always work. |
lol, I had a problem in my apartment complex a couple months back. Someone was letting their dog shit right in front of my balcony. I live on the 3rd floor and there was so much there that I could smell it from my balcony.
I had an idea who it was, there was this girl that had a medium sized dog who took her dog to that area and I had never seen her carrying a bag to pick up with. One night I was smoking on the patio and saw this girl and her dog. Her dog was squatting in the area where the dog shit had been and as far as i could tell she didn't have anything to clean it up with. As she was walking away, I called her out, telling her what has been going on and asking her why she didn't have a bag with her to clean up with. She was so shocked that all she could say was "I don't bring bags with me but I always come back for it" I made a few remarks, none of them were too acusitory but she got the point. I've never seen her take her dog there again. I was considering shoveling it up and dropping it off on her patio but I didn't want to handle it. |
You could get a pest sprinkler and turn it on at night. whenever an animal walks into your yard the sprinklers come on in 3 second bursts and sprays the intruder. If he's on a leash then the person will get sprayed too.

I’ve got a similar thing. My neighbor lets his dog out every morning and she comes over and shits in my yard. It doesn’t bother me much because I know he would be mortified to know that is where his dog does it. But this asshole cop watching his dog do this is inexcusable. |

The best part is that the neighbour was one of those guys that lets the dog lick his plate/face/etc. |

Put the cop under citizen's arrest! And impound the dog!
|
Shoot the cop...
|
set up claymore mines in your yard
|
Thats the ticket. Report the problem to the police...let his own take care of your problem.
Different, yet similiar situation, years ago we lived on a "mini farm", and had a nice fishing pond on the back side. A neighbor on the next place decided to have his boys raise a litter of pigs for their 4-H project. Soon, every fly in the county found the pig pen, and between them, and the odor it was a real problem for us. I asked him about the pigs a time or two, but he was always going to do something soon. (like when the hog market reached a higher level) One day, quite fed up I called the state department of agriculture and told them this guy had pigs that I was afraid were contaminating my fishing pond. They responded that they would have their agent out there the next day, because that was illegal. Sure enough, the agent was the neighbor...the pigs were gone the next day, good market or not. |
Go take a dump in his yard. If he sees you , wave.
|
Just talk to the guy about it. You'd be surprised what can be accomplished by simple communication. If that doesn't work, try to video tape it and take his ass to court.

Having a sign in front of your house looks so tacky though.
|
Here are some good signs to keep them out with
