Banned Discovery Channel adverts
This are pretty funny. I guess the marketing gurus decided they were a bit too close to the bone, so to speak.
Anyway, view them before they are removed permanently from Discovery's website. http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...evilclown.html http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...ail/satan.html http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...rimreaper.html What do you think? Marketing genius if you ask me. Damn you political correctness! Damn you to Hell!!!! Mr Mephisto |

I really don't see whats wrong with them. Those are some commercials that I'd actually remember, not ones that would fall into the sludge of commercials that are all the same these days.

Those are pretty great. When the clown got hit by the beach ball, I laughed out loud.
Edit: Did anyone else notice that the "Send comments" e-mail address is a yahoo account? Does that strike anyone as a bit weird, that the discovery channel needs a yahoo e-mail address? Last edited by HugAPug; 08-06-2004 at 03:16 AM.. |

I dunno, but I think that is definitely a advertising stunt... Why would they upload banned advertisements to a webpage that is open to the public?

Clearly a marketing gimmick. They were UPLOADED to a PUBLIC site, with a "notice to employees" telling them not to air them.
... ... And they've all been on TV. Kind of a cheap ploy to increase coverage, but they're still funny. |

Clearly this is a marketing stunt, and a damn good one at that. You and I are emailing this link to ppl that never watch Discovery Channel.
Nice job. My favourite is the clown.

Those are pretty damn funny. It would be pretty interesting if it is a marketing stunt, especially since it's target audience would be internet users. You'd think they would target TV viewers since they are still the majority but that just goes to show that more and more people are getting connected.
I love Shark Week

No clue why those ads got pulled/banned... MAYBE the Satan onecould offend some people, but the other two are fine... they are petty good too.
