As seen on...

Iraqi 'Most-Wanted' Deck of Playing Cards
was: $9.95
now: $5.95

As seen on NBC, FOX, CBS, MSNBC and 120+ other media outlets!
Quote:

You've seen these cards on the nightly news. They've been featured in newspapers worldwide. Now you can own the one true collector's item from Operation Iraqi Freedom. This is the same 55-card deck given to Coalition soldiers featuring Iraq's 52 "Most-Wanted" leaders.

Don't wait on this one! This is one of the hottest items in the country and we can barely keep them in stock! Set of four quantity-priced decks also available. Buy them for poker night or to hand out to your friends and family!

This deck is being supplied to troops in Kuwait and is produced by United States Playing Card Company, the leading playing card company in the world. We are the only company authorized to sell this deck, complete with "HoyleŽ Joker" cards, as it appeared in the original 200 decks given to Coalition soldiers. This is a real, usable deck of playing cards, printed on USPC's premium playing card stock, complete with a unique protective coating. Don't be fooled by imitations!

What will they think of next? Is anyone else thinking this has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever? They also have a poster available.

What do you think about this?

ARTelevision 05-10-2003 12:48 PM

Got my deck right here.
I collect paper collectibles.
This is a must have.

World's King 05-10-2003 01:52 PM

I'm not gonna even comment oh how fucking dumb this is.

Just my opinion.

"Buy these playing cards to help out the economy... and remind yourself of all the pointless shit the Presidant does to get re-elected."

nefarious 05-10-2003 01:59 PM

it's just a stupid novelty .. ^_^ IMHO ..

i'd rather play with a deck of real cards...

paddyjoe 05-10-2003 02:24 PM

Well, we certainly know the idiots featured on those cards aren't playing with a full deck.

Lebell 05-10-2003 03:00 PM

Well, between me and Art, we have two decks.

What can I say, I like odd collectables like this.

greytone 05-10-2003 03:11 PM

Are you saying it is a dumb idea to make this deck and give it to the troups, or just that it is a dumb idea to collect it?

They printed similar decks in WWII but the pictures were to make the soldiers very familiar with the shapes of enemy planes. If the troups play with the cards, they can not help but function as flash cards. In modern warfare, the enemy planes are engaged beyond the horizon on computer screens. But the troups could recognize one of these guys, just like we use most wanted posters. At least they might recognize one if a local brings one of these guys to their attention. Don't think the special forces don't need to know all these guys by sight.

I'm waiting until they reissue the WWII plane decks and Ace of Spades decks from Vietnam. I'll get all three and save on shipping! They're cool collectibles. If nothing else, I'll pass it on to my kids as a collectible from the biggest war of my generation, just like I have military patches from Vietnam and my grandfather's Captain's hat from WWII. I'll have to check with my grandmother on that last one, I think he may have been wearing it at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.

The_Dude 05-10-2003 03:25 PM

i wouldnt mind playing w/ them.

the local radio station was giving some away

gov135 05-10-2003 05:11 PM

Ehhh... It's just a novelty type item. I don't see it as particularly exploiting or anything.
If there is a market for it, and noone is getting hurt, its called capitalism.

WhoaitsZ 05-10-2003 05:27 PM

personally, i perfer nude chicks to mass murdering men.

honestly, though , i've found it kinda of sickening... and even odder, i can't figure out why.

krwlz 05-10-2003 05:50 PM

well, i think it is incredibly fucking stupid, but that doesnt mean im not considering buying one...

gibber71 05-10-2003 07:16 PM

Well I say bring em on!..Anything to deflect attention away from Canada. hoho

Quadraton 05-10-2003 11:06 PM

I especially liked all the pictures of the little silhouettes. Now, every time I see someone's shadow, I'm going to drop his ass, and turn him in to President Bush and collect my reward!

Bill O'Rights 05-12-2003 12:52 PM

Of course this is ridiculous...however, this is just the sort of thing that in another fifty years will put your grandkids through college. Or maybe not...who really knows...[whispers] but why take chances?

Cynthetiq 05-12-2003 01:23 PM

they are selling them on the streets of NYC for US$5.. along with the pictures of the WTC stuff, DVDs, bootleg videos, watches, shirts, belts..

hrdwareguy 05-12-2003 01:32 PM

I don't mind the idea, it is capitalism after all. I just wish they would stop flooding my inbox with the solicitations.

jets 05-12-2003 05:37 PM

No offense, but this one reason why I don't understand Americans.
