Fix my fuggin desk!!! 56k warning
 

New thread about fixing my desk w/o the site plugs.

A CONTEST IS TO BE HAD!!

-The name?! Fix mah fuggin desk!!!

-The rules?! Look at the following pictures and tell me how to rearrange my desk, all of the _hardware_ (a.k.a. monitor, TV, XBOX, PS2 and printer must be in this room)

Note - I'm going to add either another CRT of the same size (17", or a flat screen monitor, MAKE ROOM FOR THESE)

I know this is really hard to do w/o you actually being in my house, but do your best. If I use your idea then i'll send you 10$ in paypal, no joke.:lol: better / best ideas may get a bonus! :lol:...... Ok here's the pictures.


Oh yeah i just noticed that the shelf picture is flipped, and im to lazy to rotate it, so..... either turn your head, monitor, or DL it and fix it. =)

I dont see any problem with the arrangement of the hardwares, but I do see a problem with the wires, maybe that's why your desk seems so messy.

yeah please ignore the giant spiderweb of wires, and the fact that i have 3 different surge protectors piggy backed onto eachother. I'm just trying to figure out how to make more space on my desk so that I can fit another monitor on there, and i would like to take that shelf out possibly.... i just don't know how im gonna do it......

Is that an epic'd troll shaman on the monitor?

Move the pom-poms or whatever is directly to the right of the monitor somewhere else.

Move the monitor, keyboard, etc. to the right.

Move the light up behind the little LCD.

Do you REALLY need the cordless phone right next to you when you have the fax right there?

My advice: Take everything apart. Unplug everything, lay everything out brand new. It will be much cleaner, much nicer, and you won't have any tangled cords. It will take far less time than you imagine, and no amount of guessing or planning will work as well as actually putting everything in place. I'm speaking from a large amount of experience here :)

Just did the same thing myself the other day. Much easier to take it all apart.

gah, thats EQ on the screen, not DAOC, if you play DAOC you should be able to tell the difference :lol:

and about the moving the wires.... ughhhhhhhhhhh, the one thing i REALLY don't wanna do, but I guess I may have to...... *starts to whine* but theres ALOT of wires down there.

Trust me, it looks utterly insane and seems like it will take a day, it won't. You can get easily done in under an hour, including cleaning the desk itself (hey, it's the first time it's been empty since...if it's been 6 months or you can't remember, then you should clean it).

Besides, when everything isn't plugged in you have the ultimate amount of freedom. Try anything you can imagine and you'll strike gold sooner or later.

Needs more naked girls.

By the way, you probably get hell of a lot better wireless reception if you moved that wireless router out from under your desk. On that little shelf maybe.

almost all flatscreens can be wallmounted...for exactly this reason. :)

that alone should take care of you.

the shelfs----go through them and GET RID of things you don't really need---if you can not stand to throw them out---put them in a box and label it. Anything that does not pertain to the computers go some where else.

Option -2 Apply for for combat pay and tell them you were hit by an RPG round...then buy a bigger room.

Get rid of the X-box and you will be good :P

wow everquest joe, nice photoshop job my desk looks so much better w/o the clutter! =P on my next day off (sunday) i plan on taking EVERYTHING off my desk, and redoing it completely! i'll post an update if i do

i fixed my desk, and im likin the way it looks and having the cables all wrapped up makes a big difference, took me all day tho =P

I got it.

get rid of the xbox.. replace it with a game cube, much smaller, then get the wireless controllers for it, loose the cordless, put the gamecube where the xbox was and put the fax machine next to it, new flat screen next to old flatscreen where fax was..
