Pitching Horse Shoes
Me and Lasereth tagged along with my Dad for an Alcoholic's Anonymous cookout/convention today. It was held at a local park, fun stuff. My Dad brought some Horse Shoes and me and Lasereth pitched them for about 2 hours. Man that was fun stuff. After pitching for about an hour and a half, we realized we had only nailed 2 or 3 of them (hooking the rod at the end). We got close on pretty much 90% of them, since we are pretty good at hand/eye coordination and pick up on stuff fast, but we just weren't bringing in the cash. So then we see my Dad walking over. What do alcoholics do to pass the time? Pitch Horse Shoes, of course! Just because he doesn't drink anymore doesn't mean the skill is gone.
So he comes over and flames us and says we are doing it all wrong, and grabs one. Puts legs together, takes three steps back, and with a slow-yet-powerful under-handed behemoth of a swing, flips the Horse Shoe into perfect formation, it landing on the rod and making an excruciating noise as it rang around and around and hit the sand. First time he tried. From then on he nailed about 1/3 of the throws, the other 2/3s being extremely close. Good times had by all. Any other TFPers out there Pitch Horse Shoes?

We've got some stakes set up out back of our house.
I don't have a lot of people to throw with, though. You might say it's a hit or miss situation. *groan*

I played a few games not to long ago... didn't know I was any good. Won every game I played. Who would have thunk it?
It's a good game. Nice to play while drinkin' beer and talking.

I enjoy it. Very simple. Anybody can just pick em up and play.

We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. My Dad has couple of rods and quite a few horse shoes. My family has always been big on horse shoe throwing. In fact, I can't think of one family that lives in the country that doesn't have a horse shoe game set up
