Lately im noticing like 50-60% of the new threads are stories posted on www.fark.com and this makes me sad, TFP general section use to be about life and shiz, not just links from fark / ehowa / thesmokinggun. Thats just my opinion and it may be the beer talking.....

Well, you can always yonder to one of the dozens of other forums where you'd have to be a freak to find something not to like

I don't think the rehashing of Fark material is the problem. I'm concerned that our discussions of that material is no different. As TFPers, there's no problem with us picking up a thread from somewhere else and running with it in our own unique way. However, I really hate it when I see TFPers clearly copy-and-pasting someone else's thoughts directly from Fark and presenting it as something brand new and clever. I guess they think no one else reads Fark and no one will notice the plagiarism.

But then again, CBS keeps reporting that all of you high schoolers think plagiarism is a way of life anyway, so what can you expect?

Fark is my homepage, and if I find something interesting there or on /. I have no problems posting it here. The level of discussion here is considerably more mature than Fark, and offers a different perspective than the techno-focused folks on SlashDot. It's just a different group of people, and I like that.

I have not been to Fark in ages, the posts that just add noise got old, but there are a lot of similar type sites, and most of them have the same news stories. I know that it's not one person hopping from site to site to site posting the same story.

News is news, if one person considers a news item postworthy, you can be pretty sure that someone else does, somewhere else on the net as well.

People really do that? Damn... But honestly, unless it's your stuff that they are plaguerizing, are they really hurting anyone, other than themselves. If you catch them doing it, PM them, and let them know you are on to them.

It's equally as stupid but at least it looks really long. I'm probably just going to keep typing until I run out of things to babble about and see how many people actually read this. I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star!
