There has been plenty of egregious and suprising criminals out there, some genius's and others just plain old dumb. But what would be your favorite criminal or criminal act? Name one that just makes you laugh, or one that you even look at in aw, it's all up to you just let us know. Personally i'm not really sure who to say right now, but i'll get back to you guys soon.

Personally I just think Billie Jo Hawks is a funny one. If you're are guy and going to spend 6 years in prison you might as well try to spend those six years in the womens side. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/bjhawks1.html
After eight months of time in the womens section they finally find out that he's actually a guy. That one just makes me laugh. |

This isn't ment to be giving them respect. I've worked in and around the law for 5 years now, and i've developed kind of an other way of looking at them. Criminals are all around you, at all times, your brother, the guy that sits next to you in the office, almost everyone has done something that could be considered criminal, and some have pulled off some amaizing feets. They've stolen things that no would believe could be stolen, they have hacked systems that are unhackable, all could be considered criminals. I stated it wrong when I was first making this post, I mean, ones that you are more or less suprised on how they did it, or how it turned out. Does anyone else get what I am saying or am I alone on this one?

Ohhh....now I get it....George W. Bush, he has managed to get away with so much, and nobody seems to care, or even notice.

Robin Hood for stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Or perhaps a philanthropist of no personal means.

Hrmmm... I think that the criminals I find the most interesting are Jack the Ripper and Ed Gein. I am studying Forensic science and have been around the justice system for a while too...
These acts just make me think and ponder many things. But oddly I am in a sort of "awe" of these criminals. There are more.... but those two top my list.

The man who was a genius and could have run any Fortune 500 company with massive profits had he been legit., MR ALPHONSE CAPONE.
Having read books about the man, he was a sheer business genius. If he had been legit, there is no doubt in my mind he would have been the 20's Bill Gates. He had his close net, but he built his empire pretty much on his own. Lucky Lucciano was close, but he had Lansky and the boys helping him. Lucky was just smart enough to set up "Da Commision" and give the bosses their own territories to stop the wars.

I am always fascinated by the ones that get away. BTK for instance just turned back up and is baffling everyone again. I'm from Wichita, KS and he's the quintessential boogeyman there.
In case you don't know, BTK stands for bind, torture, kill. He killed a whole family and has now taken credit for another later unsolved murder. They don't even know for sure that it's a single person, could have been more. Ed Gein is a good one, he's the one they loosely based the movie TCM on, right?

Ted Bundy only because so many had stated that he was an up and comer, someone who could shmooze in any tax bracket and was very much liked and respected by his peers.

While I'm not sure if I agree 100% with his religion, that dude was one hell of a rabble rouser.

I was always intrigued by the D.B. Cooper story.

i am simply amazed by any serial killer. first of all, how a person could commit such atrocious acts just bogles my mind. and the fact that they get away with killing so many people. and what's even more scary is that many of them led normal lives and seemed like normal people! i guess the one that mysticizes me the most is the Zodiac killer. the fact that he was never found, and that he kept regular communication with the media is completely bewildering.

As for my vote, I do NOT admire him, or respect him, but I've always been completely awed by John Wayne Gacy. That is one truly sick man, beyond most all others. He scares the shit out of me. And I think that Charles Manson was a genius. A sick twisted brutal genius, but a genius. He always scared the shit out of me too. I hate those fuckers.

I have macrbe fascinations with criminals...but I don't admire them. I just assist in the prosecution of them, and go home and watch A&E specials about them.

tend to agree with the D.B. Cooper thing- criminals who hurt people just anger me- but there is a guy that did it right- same on black bart- something about the little guy that steps up and says "fuck the system, I'm taking what I want" and only attacks the system, without hurting innocents beyond inconveniencing them...
