Sounds cool. Basically they shove metal particles through your skin, the follow up with medicine.

How much material can be transmitted, I wonder?

Maybe it's me, but I don't really have any problem with big fat needles. Guess I enjoy getting to act like the tough guy in front of cute young nurses (or old ones, doesn't matter).

Still I'm all about the improvement of health care tech, and getting rid of those sharp needles would be quite a step in the right direction as far as the safety of those needles is concerned. My mom has gotten pricked way too many times for my comfort.

Sweet jeebus it actually worked out! I saw a little segment on a show about this a long time ago, 6+ years I think, and it ended off with the guy they were interviewing saying they needed to get more money and were hoping for the best. Man, just think of all that this could be expanded into doing.

I don't see how this is news. They used this method in 1976 for the swine flu.

Now can the same applicator be used on more than one person? It would be cool if so, another way people can't get HIV or some other nasty disease...

Four years ago?!? Guess again. I went through Air Force Basic Training in 1981, and they were using an air injection system then.

As I said, it was being used, in large scale, in 1976. I don't know why they stopped using it.

I'd like to know where that system went. When I went to basic (Jul 03) I got the privellege of having a dammed horse-size shot of penicilin in my ass. (On top of 3 normal shots in my arm, two seperate times) I would have killed for an air injection. I will forever hate the Reed Medical Clinic untill the day I die. That looks like a pretty damm cool system tho.

Did I mention that penicilin had the consistency of yogurt? And they shot it in my ass dammit!
