Your Ideal Pet Family

After trying unsuccessfully to convince my parents that YES, we do have room for another dog in our family, especially a LARGE dog, and realizing I don't have the $$$ to afford the Umbrella Cockatoo I've made friends with at Petco, I thought I'd see what other pets people would choose to have if there weren't obstacles like no pet apartments, allergies, and monetary funds in the way.

So post your dream pet family- I know I could never stop at one animal!

I LOVE dogs. The bigger the better, until I get pushed off the bed. Especially as a female, when I'm walking my friend's two HUGE labs, I see strangers around me take notice and take a step or two away. And there's just so much there to love!

Other favorite animal is the Cockatoo.... They're such intelligent birds, and they're even more adorable after I made friends with one at Petco, and she started getting excited when she saw me walk into the bird area every other day after I got crickets for my lizards. Silly $1600 price tag.

* PS for those of you with more than one favorite, you can choose more than one option on the poll, like me *

I had to choose other. It would probably be some sort of reptile, but that reptile would have to pay for, feed, and take care of itself entirely.

That's the whole point! None of those things would have to be worried about !

I'd get about two or three large dogs (Greater than 50lbs). I love dogs, especially the larger breeds, and I've never met a dog that didn't like me.

I like the larger dogs because you can throw a ball around at a park with them, and when at home you can get down on the floor with them an wrestle with them without worrying about hurting them.

Plus people think twice about messing with a large dog so they're great for home security.

Assuming I have a nice big yard, I'd get two or three dogs. Since this is the "ideal" here, let's say two labs and a husky. The three crazy cats we have now, plus one or two more. And a ferret!

And they'd all get along great. No hissing, growling, fighting, etc.

Horses would be nice, too...even though I've never owned one, only ridden a couple times, and am basically clueless about horses in general.

heh...yeah. If money and space weren't an issue, I'd pretty much be running a zoo

I love gods too! It's amazing how much dogs can resemble them at times

One of the reasons I bought a house was to get a dog. Specifically, a lab. I have 2 cats and fish. I have had a gecko. Nothing compares to a dog IMHO.

I love all animals- and I have (or do currently have) cats, dogs, bunnies......and plan to eventually have lizard or two- but my dream animal is a horse- and the more the 'mare'ier I say!

Hmm, what a hard decision to make. I have two cats right now, and we are waiting to buy a house so we can get a dog, or two. I would also like a ferret, a rabbit, some frogs and toads, and a sugar glider. I am an avid animal lover, so I could not stop at just one or choose a favorite. I chose cats, though, because that is what we have now.

Animals... are delicious.

I have a dog, black lab named Lucas. He likes to swim, eat, and run around. He believes his genitals are made of peanut butter.

Little dogs are great. They can live inside the house, are mostly clean, and you can take them literally anywhere you want.

Hmm.. let's see.

At least two corn snakes, a bloodred corn and a blizzard corn will do. A Husky, a Great Dane, and a cat. Perhaps a skunk and a rabbit, too. Yeah, that'd be great.

I would like a carnivorous humanoid that I could keep in the attic and feed only fish heads. I would release it on holidays so that it could terrorize those meddling neighbors.

Over the years, I've had a pair of pirahanna - -now those were cool - ate 1 dozen feeder fish a week -- towards the end of the week it was kinda gross seeing the fish heads floating in the tank.

A cat who thought she was a dog, she would walk on a leash, just not if people were watching, and hated tuna fish.

My favorite pet was Buns the Magic Rabbit, Buns was cool, she was friendly, litter box trained, good conversation starter, i'd always get doubletakes - -that a rabbit?

I want a dog, a big dog, but alas, with my travel schedule for work, pets are impossible, so I have silk plants and a stuffed dog.

I had one of those...

I even had to bathe her because she was really too stupid to wash herself.

I have wanted a horse since forever. I haven't gotten to ride in about 10 years because of it. My parents always lived in town and never had much money. We now live in town in an apt and don't have a lot of spare money.

The animal issue has brought arguments up in my family. We'd love to have a dog but my mum says 'no way' so that's the situation. Dog would be my pet and may well be one day.

We currently have two cats. In about a year I would love to get a big dog like a saint bernard. But I will probably get something like a beagle. My husband doesn't like animals at all. If it were up to me we would have a ton of animals.
