There's a good thread in the LL about that, so if you're not afraid to go in there and read, not post! I recommend it.
Tis on the first page. I'll refrain from linking it bcause some may miss my warning ![]()

If you're Mom is allergic to "scents" then cologne is out for you if you're planning to take her to the prom. If you will be taking someone else then try light scented colognes such as any in the Calvin Klein line. If your mom is allergic to the point where she will have a severe reaction to you and you are adverse to precluding her from seeing you off by wearing any cologne at all, try some strong smelling soap if she can tolerate that better. The whole scent thing is difficult though because cologne is by definition a scent. I hope it works out for you, the prom and that time in your life is precious and should be enjoyed to the fullest.

Drakkar Noir has always been my favorite. Then again, I've worn it for like 10 years so maybe it's time for something new.

I'd say skip it. Don't aggravate your mom, when you know and she knows that this would cause her a problem.
And really, a "new smell" probably isn't going to increase your odds of "getting some" from your date, especially if it turns out she doesn't like the smell. Of course, I don't like scents, and neither does my wife, so I'm biased.

Are you taking your Mom to the prom? If not, don't worry about what you smell like for her sake.
I've always been a fan of CK One. It is a light sent. Don't bathe in the stuff. Just a little spritz on your chest. If you put it on your neck and face the smell can be maddening... The rule is you shouldn't smell cologne until you are close enough to kiss. Just stay away from Aqua Velva and Stetson... nasty stuff but they make a nice cocktail though...

I am not taking my mom to the prom. I probably won't see her for more than a minute, and maybe not at all. It's not even my prom. I've never worn a suit before, or a tie, and I just thought some cologne would go with it. I'm anal retentive, all the peices have to be in place.

This is in the ladies' lounge- you can take a peek to see what the women like:
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=52101 I personally like Obsession and Adidas. I don't like it too strong, though. You don't want to overwhelm them. |

Go to the cologne counter at the department store... smell a few samples and pick one that you like. Again, don't go overboard. Moderation is the key. Use the kissing rule. |

If you're not going to use it much, you might try a small sampler bottle. I prefer the splash kind to the spray, and it's much easier to control how much you're putting on anyway. I usually put a small drop on my fingertip, then apply it to the pulse points on my neck and wrists. Here's some of the things I've worn that have gotten lots of compliments from the ladies:
1. Aqua di Gio 2. Hugo Boss 3. Canoe 4. Catalyst The scent that smells the best on you is going to rely a bit on your body chemistry, so trying a few different things at the cologne counter is a very good idea.

It's good stuff. Not to strong either, I don't get many comments until I am in close quarters with ladies, which is where it really counts. You don't want everyone's eyes to start watering when you walk in the room. Those people either have an olfactory defeciency or are way to conceited about their scent ![]()

Aqua Di Gio is going to be recognized by many girls as "oh, you smell like my last boyfriend" (no offense anyone...)
Just go to Nordstrom's or Macys and smell around. Scents and all are really evolutionary. Chose what you like and find a girl that likes what you like; I've seen this in action and this is when you get crazy reactions. It's amazing what scents can do. I'm just a strong believer in getting what you like. I once got something that I just 'sort-of' liked. After a while, it would make me nautious to smell. My personal favorite is Curve. I also sport Zara, but you can only get it in Europe (sukkas!) I recently smelled one by Armani that I liked. I think it was called Mania. To be honest though, I'm also a strong believer in 'intimate' relationships with my lovers. My girlfriend honestly gets more excited when she smells my natural armpit or skin's odor than when she smells my cologne (which she's also nuts for), which I feel is a side-effect of the type of relationship were in. Again, it's just an evolutionary chemical thing I guess. Glad I found my place.... ![]() Best of luck! -T Edit: just checked out the post in ladies lounge and realized that Curve is still going strong! I know it's popular, but I'm yet to meet anyone that can easily recognize it. Interesting.

I know alot of girls who like Crave by CK. I think it smells pretty good, but no everyone has it, and you end up smelling like everyone else. Dark blue by hugo is what i use alot and also Freedom by Tommy Hilfiger.

Well, actually we were going to it afterwards. Why do you say it's a new low. Have you done it? I can't see how it is any more low than drinking alcohol, and I think we all know that will be done on prom. Alcohol is the most neurotoxic drug, it's effects are much more extreme than those of ecstasy, and without checking the facts I gurantee it has contributed to at least 100 times more deaths than that of ecstasy. Ectasy hightens awareness, empathy, intelligence, creativity, emotion, communication, all things I would want to be hightened on a night that has potential to be special. I don't even have to say what alcohol does. Ectasy on prom night I think will be a new high. There is no such thing as fake experience. Experience is experience whether it is drug induced or not. I'm interested in hearing why you think it is low.
