I knew this gal in high school and Ithought she was so wonderful and smart and beautiful and I was so proud to have her as a friend . Years later we were getting drunk together and I remarked about the feelings I had for her and she told me 'Chris,I ran with all the popular girls and dated the popular boys, and I'd laugh at all their jokes, but it was all a sham. i didn't know what the fuck I was laughing at.All the while I was completely missing the point.' I don't know what my point is right now, but I feel good about the memory of that gal,so I guess thanks are in order.
