VA - How are service connected disabilities rated?
I am currently processing with the VA for service connected disability and am seeking information on the rating process. After all the appointments, my patience is waining. I am curious as to how they may rate me based on their examinations.
Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Boo

Sure wish I could help, Boo. You may try Google? I'm sure you'll end up on some silly forum with a lot of griping, but try to cut through that crap and see if there is any real meat. Good luck.

I believe that they are rated by percent (%)
10% and you get $106.00 dollars a month, and preference when looking for a gubment job, then so on, and on... I am hoping for the 10% myself after the Air Force gave me Carpel Tunnel syndrome...

My granddad got a 50% rate after getting medically discharged for an ulcer back in WWII. The bastard lived another 40 years, laughing all the way to the bank, so you never know.

After hours of google... this site has the book on claims and how they are to be rated.
EVERY veteran should read this. http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/w...38cfr4_03.html After hours of reading and math I may get as high as 60%. I now know why the DR. asked the questions that he did. My next question is: what benefits if any does a veteran receive based on percentage. Federal/State/Local. The search begins again....
