I must have the worst luck
 

I was waiting to receive my new Raedon video card which i won frome bay. USPS tracking said it was left o delivery at 9 am. At 1 I call to find out what's going on, only to hear the girl tell me that he carrier just entered my area, and I should have it any minute. Yay! So i sit around waiting for the delivery truck. Tick tock tick tock.Then I hear a bling! I just received a new email. Wonder what it could be? I go to open it up, and it's an email from USPS, saying my package was delivered already! I go nuts calling the post office and USPS, nobody can help since the adress to which it was delivered to doesn't show up. The truck driver already went home. Apparently the regular truck driver was sick today, and someone filled in. I don't have insurance on the package! AHHHHHHHHHHH! They told me to call back tomorrow, and ",aybe" the truck driver will remember where he put it. WTF!!

that's not bad luck, that's a logical reason for that happening. We've had that happen before because we have a fairly new address and oddball location. You just have to be specific on location and directions to help them. Notifying them of the location if it is not listed is a safe way to prevent this from now on. Also, I hope it will get delivered okay- USPS unfortunately has a tendancy to lose things, it's always wise to insure, or at least have delivery confirmation on items.
Sorry that had to happen though.

This is not the kind of story I want to hear since I am expecting about $400 in computer parts in th email this week. :hmm:

i'm not sure if i understand this correctly. they're emailing you the parts? where do i sign up for that service? :lol:

as far as the ups thing is concerned, raise holy hell. get names, id's, tracking numbers, and recite them to every representative you speak with until they find out where the package went, get it back, and get it to you or pay you for the missing parts. it may take a while, but don't let those bastartds get one inch of slack. if you ride them hard enough, nine times out of ten, it'll get fixed.

THis is my biggest problem. USPS system doesn't allow the operator to see where the package was shipped. I called my local post office, the carrier service, and the USPS customer service and all act like it's not their problem. They told me to call back tomorrow because the carrier already left his shift. And they're hoping that tomorrow he remembers where he dropped it off. This is the biggest crock of shit ever. And the worst part is I feel so helpless about it. Could it be that the dumbass who I bought the shit on ebay froms ent it to the wrong address? I don't even know...so many possibilities going through my mind. And also they told me that if it is indeed lost, only way i could get anything is if the SELLER files a claim. This is so wrong.

It happened to my roomate too. He ordered a 9800xt, and Airborne Express dropped it off at the bottom of the hill (we have a very long driveway on a big hill). The website said that it was delivered, but we couldn't find it anywhere.
We eventually found it next to a GARBAGE CAN outside the fence. If we were any later picking it up, the trash man would've prolly taken it. Airborne Express sux. Really good luck with UPS and especially FEDEX tho

btw airborne express didnt even care, they said, "well that's too bad, isn't it".

Unbelievable to hear that such things do happen and how unhelpgul the people we trust to bring the products to us are. In my case, I live in a building, and stayed home waiting for the truck to come by. He never even stopped near my building nor ring my bell, so I can't even imagine where he might of dropped it off. Apparently it was some new guy.....Do I have any protection at all in this case? I didn't purchase any insurance. I have ordered numerous items on ebay before and never felt the need to.

I think hubby did just that sort of thing for something he sold on ebay that arrived damaged. He got the check and then sent it on to the buyer. Didn't cost hubby anything 'cept the time to fill out the form. It might be your last resort but it still could be a possibility. I don't even remember who hubby (dei37) mailed it through. Might be USPS though.

I wouldnt give the seller a bad feedback though. Unless he did indeed send it to the wrong address.

I have a friend works at USPS I'll see if he knows any ways of pissing off the high ups enough to get them to fix things for you.

You won't believe this shit. I finally got intouch with the carrier, and he "remembers" giving it to a woman. The only problem is a woman doesn't live here! Then he admits that he might of given it to the wrong building, but can't remember wich. Gave me a couple numbers, and they don't even have the floor he supposedly dropped it off on! The worst part is the post office tell me they aren't responsible since I didn't have insurance, and I should contact the seller and ask for a refund. HA!!. Now I have to sit and wait and hope the idiot remembers where he delivered it, and that they havent gotten rid of it or anything.

A co-worker of mine works for UPS too, he constantly opens packages and steals stuff out of them. I shudder when I think about the people who are handling my packages.

I guess I have always been lucky. Never had anything arrived damaged or missing anything.

UPDATE::

Pakcage was found by the carrier down the block. The guy who I bought it from on ebay wrote the wrong house number on the package. The funny thing is that inside the package there is a recepit which he printed out, and it has the right address.

WTF???!??!?!?

I hope that he gets caught.

I thought it was odd that the shipper would have my right address inside, but write the wrong number on the pakcage. After inspecting the package, It's clear that the carrier who lost it/found it, changed the number to give himself an excuse. Damna dn it worked because I called his boss and apologized. WHOAAA

Insurance is not an option on eBay stuff, it is a fact of life. Delivery confirmation, too. Without it you are screwed and there are lots of folks out there looking to take advantage of the people who don't have protection.

I recently had to refund a sale that was delivered to a customer because I didn't have delivery confirmation on the package. I left off all of the extra features at his request to save him shipping fees from the US to Canada. As soon as I agreed to ship without it, he knew he had found a sucker. He contacted PayPal and they refunded his money.

Nothing I could do, whatsoever.

I just started purchasing on ebay so all of this is still new to me. How much extra is insurance? Should you tell the seller that youre interested after you win the bid or what's the correct procedure? Delivery confirmation is Tracking number, right? I notice alot of times the sellers don't email me back when i ask for a tracking number.
