No, I haven't...
But since I see the "WTF?" appearing more often, I do use "what the fuck" to characterize extremely odd situations... But I don't say W-T-F, I say the words completely...

Yup said it around my mom. She just looked at me blankly like I'd had a barin fart and whatever I'd said made no sense. I had to explain. She still though it was nonsense to even type that. That's my computer illiterate mom.

Never. I hardly ever type out "lol" anymore. It kind of annoys me now to a certian extent. I tend to use "lmao" more, but even then not so much so. When I first started chatting a few years back I used "lol" in nearly every sentance. I was looking back at some emails from a friend from 2 years ago, and my message had so many "lol"'s in it... Ugh.

No. But then again, I generally type in proper English anyway, so I wouldn't. Even when I'm chatting, I don't use acronyms, tho somtimes i use fake contractions or let the odd typo sldie.
How did you pronounce 'lol'? Did you say L-O-L, or did you say it like the start of lolly-pop?

I've never said "LOL" out loud, but I have said the following out loud, because they are funny or useful on their own:
wtf? Net - "What the fuck?" IRL omgwtfbbq! Net - "Oh my god (pause).. what the fuck (pause)... barbeque." IRL because it sounds funny as shit and few people know what the hell you're talking about. |

After playing EQ for so many years and constantly referring to situations "IRL", I find myself saying "in real life" in spoken conversations about people or things. It's completely sub-concious, and only with my gaming friends.
e.g. I've been playing Dynasty Mode on NHL 2004, acting as GM for the Canucks. I worked during the game last night, and afterword I called up my friend and we talked about how the Canucks didn't just lose, they lost in real life. Man I'm cool |

I remember looking back at some old IRC chat logs from "back in the day" and wonder why anyone would bother to carry on a conversation with me. I was also like 13 or 14 at the time, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

hrm...I've not said it _out loud_...but I think it quite a lot.
(It's been my fear of pronounching it wrong that has held me back, methinks...is it 'lol'lypop or 'lo(w)l'y?) I oft say 'what the fuck' (but not wtf) and 'meh'. I dunno, 'LOL' in written form doesn't really bug me...I like some acronyms. Efficiency is a positive thing, methinks.

yes... but then again "lol" is also a dutch word signifying "fun" so nobody notices it when I mean L.O.L

I've said it once, but that was back when I typed it as well. I stopped typing it about 2 years ago when I realized how stupid it was to say "lol" when you weren't actually doing it. Now people have the "lolooolololooool" variations of it and I go out of my way to not say it.
