Journals
I just looked at the journal feature of TFP today. Does anyone here have one? How would I get to someones journal that isn't a most read or a most posted? Maybe I'm just not seeing an obvious link. Anyway, tell us if you have one and if you want us to read it!

I'd actually prefer if people looked at my web log (the WWW link) than my TFP journal

A few people have said that they are reluctant to view journals of other members, but, you can make your journal entries private. If someone didn't want that entry read, they could always make it so others can't see it. That's my view of it anyway.

I've been adding to my journal since I'm in a transition period in my life I'd like to be able to go back to it and look at it after everything has changed.
I try to read other's journals, but the discussion forums are reallly engaging to me, thus leaving almost no time for journal reading.

I started a journal on 3.0. Put a lot of information and time into it. I have yet to do anything significant with this one however - I will at some point though. There used to be a link to view all journals that aws added in 3.0, but Hal has other things to worry about with the site right now beyond adding that link. I'm sure it will come in time.

I have a journal on Free Open Diary but I don't really like the community. There are a lot of people on htere who are just mean and leave mean notes. Here I think I'd feel more safe to say what I really think and feel because I wouldn't have the threat of people belittling me with their comments.

amazing, isn't it?
...how the people who run many online communities think it's somehow noble and in the interest of so-called "free expression" to let things turn into a free-for-all state of anarchy where the loudest and crassest bullies have their way. Of course it's nothing about free expression, it's about laziness and sadly also because many of them are in the bullies club too... it's not that way here, as you are finding out. nice to have you here...

Yea, people who are mean to strangers on free open diary I think are probably cowards in real life who would never say anything (mean or not) to my face. That is sad and scary.
In other news: I have started a TFP journal!! Look at the box below my post!!! Click it! |

I had a journal on v3. I have a journal now. I've kept a diary or journal of some sort my entire life. I was never good at updating it every day. The journal I have at deadjournals hasn't been touched in about half a year or longer.
But my journal here, I try to write at least something everyday, whether it's just a thought of the moment, something that happened during the day, or just a few words about something that's been bothering me. And as speckieweckie said earlier, you can make any entry you want to "private" so the general membership reading your journal cannot see that entry. I recommend a journal for everyone |
