The work safety discussion a few weeks back
With respect to the safety posting a few weeks back, I can't seem to find the original thread, but here's the back ground and UPDATE
(on the side note, why is there so many Canadians on this american board, include meself, btw that's the correct spelling) Facts: a tfp member reported here that the place he worked at (a warehouse at FutureShop, which is a BESTBUY counter part in Canada and is now owned by bestbuy) has a shocking practice that disregard the safety of their fellow human beings and the manager on duty had been lying about fixing the loose bolts on the wall which supposely held a 5 meter (14ft) tall shelve. I am a diver on the board but a buddy of mine works at the WSIB (workers safety board, a federal agency for this kind of thing) in Toronto, I showed him the original post and he was intrigued, and contacted the original poster. Update: I spoke to my friend today and I understand the following has taken place/commenced. - the owner of the Futureshop (a holding co setup by bestbuy) had been notified that the WSIB has received complains of safety practices of Futureshop's warehouses - the WSIB has request the owner of Futureshop to supply continous safety inspection records for the past six months I think it's enough to shake a tree a bit but stay tuned |
