Happy Ceasar Chavez Day!!!
Ok, so for California Residents, some get this holiday off on Wednesday. The only thing I know about it is, our school is throwing crazy parties because we have no class tomorrow. But what I want to know is, what is the cause behind this holiday? I mean it must be a big deal if our school decides to give us Wednesday instead off Presidents Day off. So I was just wondering if anyone knew the history behind it...

Because in California, it must be more important to honor a guy who fought for migrant farm workers rights than to honor the forefathers that created this nation... I dont really care either way. I would have gotten either holiday off. So go Chavez!

Someone last night told me what I meant. Basically Ceasar Chavez liberated migrant farm workers or gave them some rights. Something along those lines. But what I find funny is, most white collared American in California gets the day off, but farmers are still forced to work...Thank you Grey Davis for that holiday.
