What the hell?

http://objective.jesussave.us/propaganda.html

Thought y'all might find this site interesting. I can't decide what to make of it. Is it a hoax perpetrated by people with entirely too much time on their hands, or are people really this insane?

The_wall 03-22-2004 01:40 PM

I think people really are that insane.

tecoyah 03-22-2004 01:47 PM

Oh my....it is to laugh.

kutulu 03-22-2004 01:50 PM

I'm so fucking sick of Creationists. How fucking stupid can they be? If they had a shred of evidence, they might have something to bitch about. I'm totally open to a theory other than evolution, but you have to prove your case, not nitpick any weakness in the accepted theory you can find.

Typical arguement between the evolutionist and the creationist:

Evolutionist: We have fossil records, geological records, carbon dating, DNA, and millions of other things that suggest that the universe began with a big bang and people evolved from apes. What do you have?

Creationist: Well we have a book that says it was written by God at a time people thought the Earth was not only flat but the center of the Universe...

Fuck, even the Catholic Church has come out and said that they accept Evolution as a plausible theory. Yet still we allow a minority that does NOT know science dictate what is taught in science classes.

As noted German Evolutionist Joseph Goebbels was fond of saying, if you repeat a lie often enough, people will start to believe it.
I love how this guy uses the head of Nazi propaganda as an example. The man who wrote this article should lose his Ph.D. He's a complete moron.

Bill O'Rights 03-22-2004 02:15 PM

I am completely aghast!!

I thought for sure that this was some type of a parody site. I tore all through it looking for signs of it's being a satirical gag. No...these people are for real, and quite frankly, frighten me more than just a little bit.

kutulu 03-22-2004 02:16 PM

There is another great link on the site:

OBJECTIVE: Halloween Reclamation

Quote:

While many Christians correctly see Halloween as a time of occult dangers - when Satan is out in force trying to corrupt our society - they overlook the fact that all things are created by the Lord for a purpose. So what is the purpose of this dark time of the year?
Further down the page:

Quote:

However, instead of dressing up in occult costumes, we should dress up as historical persons from the Bible. When the children ask you who you are supposed to be, you can use that as an opening to teach them about the Lord. You can involve your whole family by creating costumed plays dramatizing the historical events in the Bible that you can perform for the unsaved children at your door, or perhaps just simple monologues given in-character as Moses or John the Baptist.

http://objective.jesussave.us/johnbaptist.jpg
"BOO! I'm John the Baptist, and these are my many exciting exploits..."
I have a better idea:

http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/pope0214.jpg
"BOO! I'm Pope Alexander VI and my Christian army will slaughter your people if you don't convert..."

Bill O'Rights 03-22-2004 02:22 PM

Yeah, kutulu, I saw that, too. Yet another reason to acompany your kids while trick or treating.

Kaos 03-22-2004 03:01 PM

Here's an idea...let people believe what they want to believe.

spived2 03-22-2004 04:16 PM

Buncha evolution bashing bigots is all they are. I'm not saying that I believe in evolution, even if it helps explain things in a much more scientific method using actual examples to back up claims, but to create a site just to bash it is very childish. They need to work harder on giving their followers a reason to stay with their faith instead of wasting their time giving rediculous reasons not to believe in evolution.

clavus 03-22-2004 05:20 PM

It is a clever, and elaborate hoax, my friends.

Very funny, but not real. They did a Christian Science Fair story a while back that got a lot of people upset. But follow a few links and you were in serios parody land - advertising "Jesus Votes Republican" baby bibs and abstainence undies, and linking to whitehouse.org.

Check out the photoshopped signs and funny story 7/8 of the way down the page -

http://objective.jesussave.us/progress.html

They accidentally protest an orthodontist's office.

Yep, what he said. I got all angry and up and arms too, until I did some digging and realized that it was a hoaz.

If you're right...and I do hope that you are...then I fell for it, hook, line and sinker, and feel the perfect fool.

On the other hand, I had been hoping that it was a parody.

fnaqzna 03-22-2004 06:34 PM

I've been digging all over this trying to find evidence that it's a joke. I can't find one.

onodrim 03-22-2004 07:32 PM

Good to know it's a hoax.

The scary part - if I showed the link to my parents, they'd probab;y think it was the greatest site ever. :p

Fire 03-23-2004 01:52 AM

thank god its a fake- I used to have to work with an evangelical christian- now I don't have a huge prob with christ, but this guy had problems with everyone who is not among the "saved" scary stuff- he got in a lot of trouble after he explained to a suprevisor why gays were inherently evil, - and could (and would) go on for up to 5 hours(we timed him) on how evoloution was a lie- perpetuated to destroy religion, because, as he said, every word in the bible is the true word of god and MUST be absoloutely correct- or else the whole thing was invalid- The sad part is that I know quite a few normal christians who are great people, but wacko's manage to give all of them a pretty bad rap

analog 03-23-2004 02:19 AM

This has got to be the funniest- assuming it's a hoax- bit of writing I've read in a while, from that site...

Apple Macintosh:

Hypnotically encased iMacs trick unsuspecting computer users into accepting Darwinism

However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an "Open Source" license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, "lickable" buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism.

But is this really such a shock? Lets look for a moment at Apple Computers. Founded by long haired hippies, this company has consistently supported 60's counter-cultural "values"2. But there are even darker undertones to this company than most are aware of. Consider the name of the company and its logo: an apple with a bite taken out of it. This is clearly a reference to the Fall, when Adam and Eve were tempted with an apple3 by the serpent. It is now Apple Computers offering us temptation, thereby aligning themselves with the forces of darkness4.

This company is well known for its cult-like following. It isn't much of a stretch to say that it is a cult. Consider co-founder and leader Steve Jobs' constant exhortation through advertising (i.e. mind control) that its followers should "think different". We have to ask ourselves: "think different than whom or what?" The disturbing answer is that they want us to think different than our Christian upbringing, to reject all the values that we have been taught and to heed not the message of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Given the now obvious anti-Christian and cultish nature of Apple Computers, is it any wonder that they have decided to base their newest operating system on Darwinism? This just reaffirms the position that Darwinism is an inherently anti-Christian philosophy spread through propaganda and subliminal trickery, not a science as its brainwashed followers would have us believe.

LOL that's the funniest thing I read all morning

kutulu 03-23-2004 08:25 AM

Hoax or not, there is a large part of the population that are way more hardcore than the parody opinions expressed on that site.

My personal favorite was the chmod 666, which they claimed was a secret code to unlock the work of the devil. Which is even more ironic given that their site is running Linux.

thejoker130 03-23-2004 10:01 AM

you will notice they were only blasting macintosh on there.....
the site is secretly run by bill gates

rsl12 03-23-2004 10:22 AM

yeah, CLEARLY a hoax--i particularly like the Landover Baptist Church bashing, where they accuse the church of spreading hateful anti-christian messages....apparently it caused some fanatic christians to go bashing the landover baptist website...

however, that bit about evolution doesn't have quite as much tongue-in-cheek as other articles on the site. i can see how people were fooled.

Some of the most popular vehicles for this subliminal propaganda are children's television shows, books, and toys. By getting their ideas into the minds of the young, they hope to be able to do the most damage to traditional values and belief. Shows like Pokemon, which features animals "evolving" into new forms, and popular movies like Jurassic Park and X-Men provide a continuous cultural fog of Evolutionism that is impossible for innocent children to escape from.
I love it!!! Gotta cath'em all!

I see why many people don't realize this is a parody site. A little googling is all it takes! Read the "Prayerbook" (Guestbook) -- it's hilarious!
