Now you know one more Nothing better than catching a tornado after chasing for the whole week. Do you wait for the sirens or are you a total weather nerd like me and start tracking in the morning, following the developing storm while making frequent stops to get weather data downloaded to your laptop When I was a kid, I used to be a real asshole. I'd wait till it started raining, then put my speakers in the window and play a wav file of a tornado siren. It was amazing how many of my neighbors ran outside with video cameras |

Being a meterology major, I need this stuff. I wish I had the means to travel to where severe weather was happening. The bigger the thunderstorm the better. I love seeing clouds/scud get sucked straight up into the storm. Just a few more weeks....

I love thunderstorms. I grew up near the lake and it was amazing. I would have my window open just enough to hear the rain coming down , the thunder cracking, hear the waves crash against the shore and watch the lightening flash off my wall.
They never bothered me I was never afraid of them , so anytime a storm would roll through in the middle of the night I would sleep right through it. I would go to school the next day and everyone is like did you hear the storm it woke me up it was rattleing the windows this that and the other and I would be left standing there like what storm.

I'm the same, Yalaynia. I sleep better when it storms...when I was in high school, I had one of those "soothing, go to sleep" tapes of a thunderstorm.
When I lived at home, I'd stand out on the deck when a storm was coming... I love the smell, the wind, and watching the clouds when there's one coming in. When lightning started getting close, I'd move into our breezeway and watch from there. Awesome... We don't get them very often here, though, usually it just rains every day for a week...but only another month or so, and we'll be back in Ohio
