Growth curve.
The board is currently growing at a rate unlike I've ever seen.
We've got people with insanely, and I might at unmaintainably, high average daily post counts. I have never witnessed the birth of the TFP and I am wondering what kind of growth curve we've got here. I figure we've got a few reasons for the push: 1) Pent up posting energy. 2) Plenty of threads to start about the TFP (like this one). 3) If there are no threads discussing anything, then we have to start them all. 4) People are going to miss their multiple thousand post counts. Make up efforts should be underway for at least a couple days. Then I hope everyone will chill out. I will say this is an exciting time. I am stunned by how fast the threads are growing and how many people are here pushing out the words. I figure the curve is sharp right now, but I'm predicting a lessening of the slope in a week, then a steady decrease in the increase until we level off at a steady rate.:D I would like to further add that I have a hard time believing there are already two people with over 100 posts. One nearing 200, ALREADY. I pity the mods on spam hunts. |

It's not that bad. For the most part, our members are mature enough to know that post count means nothing. |
See, with me, I just can't stop posting in every single thread I find. So many people to talk to, so many things to talk about. I try to make my posts meningfull, but you know how it is back in tilted nonsense.

Hey!!!! Does spectre have an avatar because he is a mod?? anyway...I've got some pent up posting I have to do. Gotta rebuild you know!
|
Yes he is. Yes he does. A few other mods/supermods have them too. Custom titles to boot.
Nonsense is fun, and oh, this history of that board. |
Yeah this is growing so fast, I can't stop replying!!! I usuall have something to say, but i can't keep up with the threads!! :)
OOH!.. Don't Fear The Reaper... now playing :) |
Actually, I'm just trying to get my Avatar back.
That and I missed this place for the past week. |
Losing the TFP was like a punishment... Now i have to repay by posting hella more than i did before... :)

it'll go down.
after a couple of weeks, we'll see who's still here. |
We had a fairly large community here and we got cut off for a week. Now where back and everyone is at ground zero. We had pages upon pages of discussion on all sorts of topics so now people are in a hury to get all of that back, so many topics are brought back and folks are putting there two cents in.
It really is amazing to watch. |
it is amazing, huh.
i think its a bit exciting as well. we should have a bit of a bet about who will hit 250 first (of course, not counting Hal and ZeroCool). haha. now thats just a bit too aussie huh! |
It'll prolly be me. But maybe not.
|
Within the first 24 hours of the TFP being back up again, I couldn't tell it had gone down in the first place with so many people intent on getting things back on track.... good job guys!
|
I'm back to my post-lurkerism rate of posting, about 20/day. don't know if it'll continue, but once the Sword of Damacles was up last time, I maintained about that rate until the end.
|
I think I averaged 8 posts a day...it will probably be higher for the next few days while I catch up to some of these threads, but no where near 100 a day:D
|
billege, wasnt the nonsense board the all billege board once upon a time? =)
yah, we all have pent up posting to do. personally, im not in any hurry to get my title/avatar again, but i'll get it eventually |
You know, it took me a good 3 months to hit 250 after I ended my lurker status. I'd rather not have it take that long again. I thought I was powerposting then...:;coughs:: Oh well.
|
Once upon a time, *sniff* it was the All Billege board.
*sniff* |
I just am glad to find such a great forum with so many engaging topics.
Every time I click reload there is a thread worth reading and replying to.. It's great. The only bad thing is going to sleep, only to wake up and "catch-up" on threads I posted in earlier. :) |
I know I was pretty pent up...
That and, as a (relative) newbie, I'm enjoying the evenness of the new playing field. For some reason that's inspiring me to play more. |
I really missed TFP when it was down so I'd say its a pent up thing for me too.
|
It's like going back to a toy store when you were a kid, and waiting for the door to be unlocked - once you're in - you know so many places you want to go visit all at once.
|
Yes thats it exactly.
