Interesting recurring dreams?
I don't put much stock in dream analysis, but I do think that dreams are interesting. Does anyone have recurring dreams? I have two that I can recall:
1. I often have a short dream in which I am being attacked by those monkeys with cymbals (wind up toys). I keep stepping on them and they keep coming. 2. In one recurring dream, I can't fall asleep. I always wake up tired. (In the dream, I try all sorts of different strategies to fall asleep, but fail). |

whenever I'm really sick, theres a dream where two really big spaceships are flying at each other. There's some sort of communications, then one of the capitans authorises the use of some wierd devasting weapon. Then I wake up. Pro'lly the scariest dream I ever had.

Any chance of that happening? I don't mean now, since its pretty hectic, but is it a possible addition at some point? |

When I was about 8-10 yo I used to have two recurring dreams occasionally. One of them was every night for about 2 months. I actually got used to them and actually quite liked them
1) Number 1 was me and my mum in the family car in a desert somewhere. Tha car was broken down and we were miles from home. I realised the car would go if I helf the cigarette lighter down. Am sure there was more to it in terms of a story but I can't remember now 2) Number 2 was me waking up with a feeling of total happiness, bright sunny day and that summer holiday kind of feeling - when you had nothing to do and could play out with your mates all day long. However, at that point in would walk a butler and deliver me a cup of tea. Always felt my other dreams were interrupted by this butler guy. Number 1 I can't make out, number 2 I think was due to me hearing my mum boil the kettle and the dream started as a precursor to waking up and as a way to end my previous dream. Now the best dream I ever had was .... |

Whenever Im about to fall off the side of my bed, I always dream im racing through the desert on a mountain-bike, then the desert stops I plummet off a massive cliff, I experience the sensation of falling because, well, I am... In the dream it feels like im racing for ages, and also freefalling for a long time, however im fairly certain ths all takes place within a few seconds time. I wake up when I hit the bottom of the cliff, my bedroom floor.

I rarely have recurring dreams, but my dreams always tend to take place in the same places. It's as if there's this whole other dream world that only my unconcious mind has a concept of. There's a town there where all my friends live, which borders a lake. It's a small town, quite near to where I grew up, which is strange because where I grew up actually has no such places near it, but in dreamworld it does. Secondly, in dreamworld things are much closer and condensed, so that traveling great distances is nothing. One could easily get from, say, Alaska to California in fifteen minutes of dreamtime. Everything is transposed from the actual world, but things are different shapes...Washington doesn't look like Washington, but you know it's Washington! It's very strange, but also entertaining at the same time...someday I'd like to draw a map of my dream world

When I was 5or 6 I kept having a dream about me and a group of kids I didn't know..
We are walking up to this big scary looking mansion...right in the front yard centered with the path to the front door is a stone tomb....I stand there and watch the other kids try to push the cover off and it scares me because I know nothing good can come of it...So me and 3 other kids walk up the stairs of the house and start to knock on the door but before we do a vampire answers the door....We all scream and the last thing I do is turn around and look at the other kids near the tomb....then I would wake up.... kinda strange....I can still see it very vividly in my mind.....

I have recurring dream where wolfs tear apart my baby girl.
(in real life I have two sons) I wake up really shaken from that one. I also have recurring dream where I get in fist fights with really big guys (who could really take me easy), and the fight is kinda slow motion, but I continually beat them up badly. The interesting thing here is the location/setting changes from time to time. Last time it was a hockey setting, and the fight was a hockey fight. For the record, I too have had the dream where I loose my teeth. What's with that common thread ? |

When I was a kid I had a recurring dream where E.T. chased me and my sister around the backyard. There was this bush in the dream, that if you went through it, you were safe. My sister would always get through but E.T. would always grab my leg and I'd look back and be scared to death.

Yes. When I was a kid I was in a Tron like 'plane' and these massive brightly colored balls (like something you would see in Bryce) would roll around on the plane and slowly chase me down. I'd eventually make it out of that world and into my garage, but then I got paralyzed with fear and could no longer run. Then they rolled over me and I died. Still want to know how those massive orbs got into my garage.

When I was a wee little boy, I had a recurring dream in which my parents and I were walking through a large building, and this giant mechanical arm came out of nowhere and picked me up. I was thrown through a tube made out of hula-hoops, some were on fire, some were frozen, it was like an antigravity chamber because I seemed to be floating. Then, I landed on a circular platform that rose up, and it came out of a hole in the floor right before the door to my room. then it ended. The part where I got picked up always scared the hell out of me. Also, I think I dream in colour, I always seem to note specific colours of things, I was told that only crazy people dream in colour; maybe I'm crazy.

I have had this one where I am sitting around quietly, then I reach into my mouth and slowly pull out my left incisor. I've had this dream 10-15 times.
I think it started when I took a girlfriend to a concert years ago, and she got a tooth kicked out in the Mosh pit. I always felt guilty about that, or at least really awful about it. |

Whenever I get really stressed out, I always have this dream where I'm in this department store and then this monster (which for some reason looks like the Krakken from "Clash of the Titans") comes bursting up through the parking lot. There is asphalt and cars everywhere. Everyone is screaming and running for their lives and I start running too and then I just running in place and am going nowhere. I always wake up right as the monster starts bashing the store.
