It seems I have to clarify what I meant McDonald's actions themselves are socially responsible - not providing something which NO ONE needs (a supersize coke and fries is over 600 calories! Not to mentions the burger) - but their reasoning behind it is likely, as many have pointed out, far from socially responsible.

Ex-actly!

The only thing that I hardly ever get there is a #10, which is the McChicken combo. I'm glad that they've finally decided to put a stop to this, although I'm kind of doubting that it will last too long. The serving sizes of things there were just getting ridiculously big (esp. the fries). No wonder a huuuge # of the world's population is obese or damn close to it...thanks to McDonald's.

Y'all have weighed in on this already... Sorry.

I'll only add this: McD's chicken caesar entree salad is surprisingly good!

McDonald's shouldn't do this. If people aren't smart enough to eat right... So what. It's their own fault, not McDonald's.

I could go on and on about how people eat like hell and don't get any exercise, and have no clue what it takes to stay in shape, and how they bitch about being overweight, but it's not worth my time. I'll just wind up pissing people off, as usual.

I am overweight. I hope you dont hate me.

I dont blame anyone for the way I am. In fact, I am on Weight Watchers trying to get healthy. McDonalds sucks. I cant beleive that many people care about it anyways.

Large corporations are slow in comprehending the necessity for improving their products. Quality is an evolving concept. There are some good things happening in society. One of them is that customers are starting to consider what they are putting into their mouths.

McDonald's sucks ass. Their food is nasty. Every now and then I'll get a McChicken off of the dollar menu. Their burgers make me sick...literally. The fries taste like blah. I'd rather go to Culver's and get a real burger, or some other good sandwich, with cheese curds, onion rings, or chili fries (I know...heart attack on a platter), and spend a little more for food that tastes like what it's supposed to be. I'm not a skinny guy, and during the winter, my exercise regimen has slowed down. As it warms up, I'll get back on the bicycle. BTW, I also like Taco Bell, and probably eat way too much there, too.
