Psycho

The first time I spent a few days at my gf's parents, I ended up getting really wasted. Everyone had gone to sleep, so I stumbled my way down to the bathroom in the basement, hovered over the toilet and let fly this massive turrent of grossness.

I missed.

The next day, I'd forgotten all about it, and they had all blamed it on her younger brother, and he had to go down and clean it up !! LOL.

She's my ex now, so I know she probably told him. But damn, I still cringe every time I think of it.

Sorry, but I don't do mean things to get even with people. I'd like to add something to this thread besides that but what can I say?

Are there two types of people in the world regarding this kind of thing...people who do mean things to get even and people who don't feel a need to get even?

It's not that I don't do it because I'm such a great person - I'm not - but it has always seemed useless to do stuff like that. Also, why would I want to do mean things? Honestly, I don't get it - but not from an ethical perspective. I don't care about so-called "ethics" or "morality." Just from a rational point of view, I don't see the point of doing things to "get even."

I didn't really think of it as mean, but as being healthy. However, she perceived it as such because she was used to the attention. Goes to show that you shouldn't take anyone for granted, I suppose.

I have only felt as tho I "got even" once and really it wasn't about getting even as much as perhaps feeling justified in my action. I can't say I have any regrets yet to this day cause I would sit here and say he had it coming. It was the only way I felt I could lash back without being straight out down right plain old just mean as he had been.

I am also of the school that revenge is not the way to go. No matter how bad someone shits on you, they'll get it back eventually.

Although, the only time I did something revengefull was putting this guy's email on several spam lists, mostly porn. I was in a yahoo baseball league, and the guy froze me, so I couldn't make any move, leave messages, etc. and started making trades with his team from mine. I was in first, and he was in last. He never responded to any of my e-mails as to why he did it.

I truly believe that what comes around goes around. I don't need to devise mean things to get even because there is something bigger at work that will guide fate. Plus, I think most people will have a guilty conscience and be haunted by that. Teaches them humbleness hopefully. Now of course there are those who do not have remorse, but like I said, there's a bigger power that will eventually bring them to their knees.

My girlfriend was holding out on me in the sack. So for revenge, the next time she wanted some, I did the same to her....only I was only able to hold out for 10 seconds.
Other than that...I let karma take care of it.

OK I kinda feel bad now after reading all your posts here. I did take revenge on a pair of girls in college. They had it coming though. They had tricked me into going with them off campus and then getting into some big trouble. Since I was the upper classman and they were freshmen I was responsible. Yet they ignored all of my protests and I had no transportation back at the time except with them. Then when they got back they spread over campus what WE did and how they were totally innocent. Ended up hearing about it from one of the RA's who was a friend of mine. She suggested I go to the Dean of Women and explain my side. When I did she told me that it was good I'd come to her when I did. After a lot of explaining and talking to several people I got it sorted out. So then later I turned them in for stuff and they got kicked out. They had pulled this same kind of crap on another upperclassman too so I didn't feel too bad. They'd have gotten more into their little claws if they hadn't gotten kicked out. Besides I turned them in for something they actually did, not something I fabricated. I just happened to be the mole. In their case - what comes around goes around. They had it coming.

Funny thing is I don't even have any sort of belief in karma or cosmic justice or anything else like that and I still have no interest in getting even.

I wonder why we need to feel that there is some sort of fairness or justice in life. I've not seen it enough to think it's anything like the norm.

People have a hard time realizing that in this existence anything truly is allowed. People feel the need to believe in fairness and justice because without it puts their life in an existential crisis.

I tend to avoid getting even with people by being mean because that sort of thing would do nothing but make me feel weak. The strongest thing anyone can do is to rise above it (whatever it was) and not let it affect them - it concedes power unduely.

Well yeah - why would anyone care about what happens to one's enemies, or spend a lot of time thinking about them?

I figure the worst possible punishment for many people is they are condemned to being themselves for the rest of their lives.

EXACTLY. Similiar thing happened to me. I was taken for granted, and she became totally bothered that I just stop caring.

Fact is, she messed up pretty badly and at one point if she messed up just once more I was going to destroy her life. I helped her through the most hard times in her life and it was like it was for nothing. I was about to undo everything I did for her and worse. She hurt me that badly.

Then I calmed down, thought about it and desided I just didn't care...life would be a lot easier to just go on doing what I was doing everyday and not bother.

Many years ago I am driving to trade school with a friend and we have to go past a high school. Three teen-age girls run off the sidewalk in front of my 4x4 truck. I come to a screeching stop, narrowly missing all three girls and they start screaming and swearing at us like we are the ones in the wrong. I say nothing and we drive away.
It had rained part of the night and was now a nice sunny day. As we were driving to our last day of trade school we approach the high school. There was some work being done between the road and sidewalk that had clogged a drain and left a huge mud puddle. I see three girls walking down the sidewalk all dreesed in white track suits. It's those three mouthy bitches from yesterday. I say to my friend "watch this" and I steer over towards the mud puddle. The splash was higher than my truck. The three girls were covered with mud from head to toe. My friend just looked at me with his mouth hanging open and then said" I can't believe you did that". I said "Payback's a bitch" and we laughed all the way to school.
That was 25 years ago, my friend and I are still close and all I have to do is make a sound like "bawoosh" and turn my hands to the right and we both start laughing.

I believe in justice enough to try to be a force of injustice in the world.

I once threw a woman's car keys into the woods for holding me up and wasting my time.

I've keyed fresh paint jobs and sprayed revolting things on doors and windows, all in revenge for petty infractions.

It's very satisfying to be mean.

I spit in an ex roomate's food.
She was a bitch who never did anything she was supposed to. (like buy toilet paper when it was her turn, or clean the bathroom on her scheduled week, etc.) So, I was drunk, I saw her vegetable dip in the fridge, and I spit in it. Not something I'm proud of...but it was pretty funny.

Actually, I have another revenge story about the same girl. She used to flit around from guy to guy on a rather small campus. (not mine, a private school that I refer to as "Big High School") Anyway, she dumped one for the other after a week, and so the first guy pissed on the second guy (a rich asshole's) beloved Audi. Yeah, it was pretty funny.

no offense, but it's people like you who make this world a lot worse than it should be. keying someone's car for a petty infraction? I hope it was a SERIOUS petty infraction. It seems I, along with a small amount of others, are the only ones left in this world who are NICE and FORGIVING to others.

What if someone keyed your car? Assuming you have a decent car. What if they did it for a "petty infraction." Wouldn't you be pissed?

I'm not a Super Christian or anything like that, but being nice is something every man should abide by. Only in the most serious situations should someone take matters into their own hands.

I lived in a dorm with a bunch of really loud, party-animal type assholes. They would always leave their toothbrushes and clothes in the communal bathroom, making a general mess. I eventually got tired of them puking in the sinks, pissing in the water fountain, and tearing the doors off the stalls, so I took every toothbrush that I could find and scraped dog shit off my shoes with them.

The funny thing is that I'd do it again if I had to.

Meaning, I wish we all knew how to act completely polite to the person (beyond belief polite) even though we may despise said person's guts.

I try to do this, but in the end, apathy takes the better of me.

It is my firm belief that most people in this world need an extra dose of apathy.

I either care very much or not at all about things. The keying of my car would probably not faze me. Someone zooming into the parking spot beside me, whipping open his door so that it smacked my passenger side door, then not even looking back as he stormed off would make me key his car.

I say that they're petty infractions, and they are. They're still horribly rude, and I try to top them in response.

ex: lit his car on fire (not completely), let his dog loose (never came back), and just other oddities... like small amounts of mayonaise in his tennis shoes, milk in a mister thing and spray his clothes in his closet with it daily, and small amounts of glass insulation fibers in his sheets...

that guy was pissed, depressed, reaked, had all kinda athletes foot, and itched and scratched everywhere all day like a bum...
