Most of the time I don't have pants on.
It's fun times for all. |
Thanks to chat, I've taken three hours to write two paragraphs of a 5 page paper. It's a lot of fun.
<-- lurks-a-lot ;)
but often what i see in chat makes me smile or lol. c'mon peoples, stop by sometimes :D |
We already had a few bash.org gold quotes today.
This is tfproject.org with a pulse.
All the cool shit that gets posted on these boards, can be found live in chat. I'm in there ALL the time. Usually 11pm until about 5, 6am EST. Just yell out my name, i'll see you eventually! lol Join us, won't you? :) |
arf, can't connect to the chat
bloody firewall must be blocking the connection :( is the connection fixed at port 6667 or can i try a range of ports to connect with ? |
From what I read on the provider's site it is best to use 6667. Have you tried only the chat client or did you try others Ripp3r?
Ripp3r, check out a program called SocksCap.. it allows you to tunnel your programs through a socks server, no matter what they are.

I have mirc installed on my machine, but the firewall of my company has port 6667 blocked apparently
I get this error when trying to connect with the Java Client on the site : java.net.connectexception : connection refused weird thing is that i have at least 1 java chat that i can log into. anyhow, it seems the only sollution for me would be to find one of those CGI chats that allows me to connect to any irc.server since the cgi applet connects from the webserver to the irc server on port 6667 and the webserver relays the images to you over port 80. Unfortunatly, it seems that all my CGI websites have changed into Pay to Chat . Can anyone help me with that ? |
Poor analog.
tried the sockscap thingy, it seems that there is no socks server running on our proxy servers ... so i can't use it :(
Whats the server name if using a client like mIRC?
Umm the name shouldn't matter as long as you have the right address
irc.irvingnet.net |
Oh, and yeah the chat is a lot of fun. I've wasted what should have been a lot of productive hours chatting in there.
it is quite interesting, not to mention cool links every now and then. :)
I'm there, lurker extraordinaire
I've stopped in the chat a couple times, just need more free time to chat more often.
It may seem hard to be the new guy in the chat and not knowing anyone, but just jump right into a convo and enjoy! |
That is what I did. Just jump into the current topic with a smile. :D
Here's a great little how to written by Antagony for those wanting to use something other than the java client.
I stop by now and then. Not on enough at night any more. My wife has been doing too much ebaying.
Sorry I can't come in anymore...my ip is banned
i always forget that about 'CHAT' , maybe it's because i type too slow
a note, to people whose various providers have blocked port 6667: change the port to 6668 or 6669.
