Mothers

Didn't want to hijack the thread

What do you call you mother? Here's some different term used for them

"Mum"
"Mom"
"Mommy"
"Mummy"

Etc etc, you get the idea

I call mine Ma

Redlemon 02-02-2004 08:37 AM

Usually, Mum.

Phaenx 02-02-2004 08:41 AM

Mom.

StormBerlin 02-02-2004 08:42 AM

Mom. But when I'm feeling endearing, I'll call her Mommy.

wubbawubba 02-02-2004 08:51 AM

mom

ShaniFaye 02-02-2004 09:02 AM

Momma....or when I'm sick (even though Im 35 years old) Mommy

krwlz 02-02-2004 09:03 AM

Usually Ma, or Mom.

CinnamonGirl 02-02-2004 09:05 AM

Mom normally, Mommy when I want to be cute, when I'm sick, or when I've had a really bad day.

thejoker130 02-02-2004 09:30 AM

Mom or Mommy when i'm trying to get something.

wry1 02-02-2004 09:36 AM

"Hey lady!"....or...."yeah, you."

Just kidding!

"Mom" usually does fine.

Confederate 02-02-2004 10:16 AM

mom all the way

present_future 02-02-2004 10:23 AM

Mom, unless I'm tired of hearing her talk, then I'll call her Mother.

raeanna74 02-02-2004 10:40 AM

Moma usually.

She always though of MOM as being "disrespectful". Yeah over-reactive a bit. So when she irritates me I'm in the habit of saying Mom instead. It gets under her skin faster than any other "mother" term. Wierd.

Mother-in-law I call Mom

My daughter sometimes calls me Moma or Mom. I think she picked up the Mom from some of her friends.

PorscheBunny 02-02-2004 12:01 PM

Stupid Bitch.

If you knew her, you'd agree. She once called breastfeeding a baby "unnatural".

glytch 02-02-2004 12:14 PM

I call mine "mom". Nothing fancy here.

wilbjammin 02-02-2004 12:24 PM

Mom... 100% of the time.

ratbastid 02-02-2004 01:22 PM

Mom.

Occasionally "Ma".

shimmy1 02-02-2004 01:23 PM

I go with mommy or momma, I tried Mom once, but it just wouldn't stick.

Averett 02-02-2004 01:42 PM

Another vote for Mom

Getao 02-02-2004 01:57 PM

Mum, mom, mother... those three vary randomly depending on my mood. I will use mother when I'm serious, however.

Gortexfogg 02-02-2004 02:10 PM

Mom. Mommy when I'm in a humorous mood.

tuffrr 02-02-2004 02:14 PM

Always been mum - i find it weird when people call their parents by their first name too.

I feel awkward calling my parent first name too. But when it comes to strangers talking about my parent, I may use my parent's first name just to avoid confusion

tuffrr 02-02-2004 02:20 PM

Yeah, i often introduce people to my parents as mum and dad and then get funny looks from them and have to correct myself.

skier 02-02-2004 02:26 PM

i sometimes call her mom, but usually i let out a yo, momma!

Once i forgot my friend's last name so i called his mother randy's mom. It stuck, now everyone does it.

absence_of_color 02-02-2004 03:32 PM

When she was alive, I called her mom or mother.
Mostly mom.

glasscutter43 02-02-2004 06:28 PM

mum

Yalaynia 02-02-2004 10:51 PM

I usually call my mom, mom when I m talking to her.
Maaaaammy when im sucking up to her, the good old fashion HEY YOU when I m kidding around and mommy when I come up and give her a hug and say hi.
Course with the MAAAAAAAAMMY I usually get a response of whadda want.

Crack 02-03-2004 01:39 PM

Lumari... that's her name.

SaltPork 02-03-2004 01:45 PM

Always Mom, except when I was little, then it was Mommy.

cheerios 02-03-2004 02:26 PM

when I'm pissed I caller "Mother dear" and make a movie reference to that freaky lady who beat her kids w/ coat-hangers. :D pisses her off all the time. Alternatively, something similar to PorscheBunny's title works for me, too, for different reasons. but it's a good consensus among people who know her that she's an alcoholic obnoxious mess.

Nazggul 02-03-2004 02:53 PM

Mom

KellyC 02-03-2004 03:59 PM

I call my mom "MẸ"
pronounce (me-eh) [say it fast]
vietnamese equivalent to "mom" in english.

Psivage 02-03-2004 04:26 PM

OMFG!!

That brought back a memory. :)
I used to do that too. But it is Mommy Dearest that you are thinking of.
I used to call her mommy dearest sometimes, but it was all in good fun, she would get a clothes hanger and run after me.

Good memories. :) :) :)

Lasereth 02-03-2004 06:01 PM

Momma! Always has been Momma and always will be. :)

-Lasereth

fik 02-03-2004 06:32 PM

jasonresno 02-03-2004 07:11 PM
