Friends can be really slow, cant they?

But you just got to love them.

It seems I spend half the time with a certain friend just waiting on her slow ass. Heh.

Im here, on her computer, as I have been for a good thirty minutes...just waiting.

Anybody else have friends like this?

I also have slow friends. I tell one of them to go get me a 40-pin IDE cable so I can connect the HDD to the RAID array so I can mirror their drives for stability and they just look at me like

I mean Christ, how dense can y'all get?

i have a few friends like that.

one of them you tell him he has to be somewhere 2 hrs before we are actually ment to meet there because he takes so long to get ready and get distracted REALLY easily. its just a group joke now.

another one will tell us to come around and then she will want to wash her hair, WHILE WE ARE THERE!!!

but you are right, i gotta love them. with out em' life would be a whole lot more boring.

usually he starts to get ready, then he will remember something he has to do around the house. that or he will not know/realise what the time is and is too caught up in what he is doing to realise that he should be somewhere in 10 minutes.

mind you, sometimes he will surprise us and be the first one there. that is once in a blue moon and when it happends it is a moment to be remembered.

I also agree with telling them to be ready a half hour or so before they actually have to be ready, it's just good insurance

We had a buddy that was always late, every time, everywhere. We berated him about it relentlessly, telling him how disrespectful it was, and making jokes about how we have to tell him the wrong time so he'll be there on time. He finally got the point and now makes an extra effort not to make people wait on him.

I have a few friends like that, and I'm surprised they even make it to movies, considering how long it takes them for anything that is tentativly schedualed. I'll tell my friend to come to my house at 3, they'll be just leaving at 3:45, and then they'll have to pick someone up. Finally, they show up at my house at 5

Then again, I do it occasionally too :P

I'm usually the offender. Esp. for lunch, they're always waiting on me, so when I'm early, they think the earth shifted or something.

You cant tell her to be ready early, it just doesnt work.
She is the most successfull procrastinator in history, I think. haha

We dont ever have anywhere to be on time, we didnt get to the party last night until almost ten, and it started around 4.
And that was early for us.

At least I know there are more out there that put up with friends like this. She soaked in the tub for over an hour, took another half hour to get dressed, and when she came through, I got up and got the rest of the way dressed, combed my hair, threw some base, lipstick, and eyeliner on, plucked my eyebrows, burnt one, and done this all in the time it took her to put on her makeup.

Sounds like my baby's godmother, except that it's Ila Standard Time in her case.

My friends get annoyed by my mantra I recite at them if they're late: To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, to be late is to be in DEEP yogurt. Just leave without them once or twice, they should get the picture.

I've got a roomie like that. My other friends and I used to complain amongst ourselves about his perpetual lateness....until I finally formulated what is now universally known as Snyder Time Dilation.....(my roomie's last name being Snyder).

It's quite simple. Whatever time frame he quotes you (i.e.- I'll be there in 10 minutes), you multiply it by 6 and add another 15 minutes to the product. So 10 minutes really means an hour and 15.

Strangely, it works!

But he's not the worst. My parents are the worst I know....to this day friends and family will tell my parents that events start 2 and a half hours before they actually do....so that my folks will be a "fashionable" 15 minutes late or so.

Ugh. Needless to say, it sucked growing up having to go places with them.
