Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp
I found this image in one of the links in Mephistos post and thought it was rather disturbing, haunting, somber, freaky, and a host of other adjectives. I cleaned it up and made it a bit easier to see what Im talking about.
Look in the image, in the circle of in the top of the image. See that square? Its a group of Bergen Belsen prisoners lined up for roll call. Haunting, no? The image is low resolution to save my server. If you want the full image, it can be had, along with others, here . http://theravenel.mine.nu/img/bb.jpg |
I checked out all the links in Mephistos post myslef, and I looked for the square of prisoners and I couldnt find them.
Thank you for clearing that up. I thought the D-Day pic was haunting, as you say. All those planes flying, gives me nightmares. :( |
That's pretty haunting. There's a site with all those pictures too www.evidenceincamera.co.uk that has been gaining a lot of publicity. However, they have been receiving so much traffic, I haven't been able to get to it.

Good post.
While in Berlin we went to a former concentration camp in East Germany. It was very disturbing, the camp was pretty intact including burial mounds that contained the victims of the genocide that occured. Asd you entered thaere was a square with pits al around the edge, the germans filled the pits with water, rocks etc then had imates walk the square all day breaking in boots for soilders. It was horrific, the rooms were left as they had been after use ( explain later). They had exhibits of lamps which were made out of prisoners skin, where the nazis had removed the skin becouse they wanted the tatto for klamps shades, a human breast made into a tobacco pouch etc. The local also had to bury the bodies as they had denied the existance of the camp. The camp was liberate by the Russians, who according to rumour freed most of the imates and then stuck the German prisoners in there. The picture show the size of these places they were so large - small towns in the woods. God help all those processed by them, never again for anyone - no matter colour, race or relgion. |
such an innocuous image laden with so much pain.
