It is kinda hard to be totally politically correct when referring to that sort of thing, someone might get offended no matter how carefully the words are chosen. I think "oriental" is not commonly used to offend people, IMO it has vague romantic tones in it. |

I guess each people have a different view on political correctness, but what is important is to choose words that are political correct to all people (nearly all at least)
In the case of the word oriental is offensive to many people, me included

When I read the title of this post Tera Patrick came to mind. I think its cause she is not a full 'oriental' but she is still exotic enough.

I dunno, I'm "oriental", and I don't consider the term derogatory.
Typically though, I hear the word "Asian" used to describe ppl from China, Korea, Japan, Phillipines, Vietnam.. And.. well.. "brown" to describe ppl from India, Pakistan, etc. etc. None of them are supposd to be insulting or racist in any way. And now that THAT'S done with... Ming-Na Wen Kelly Hu Vivian Hsu Kyoko Fukada I dunno about Lucy Liu. I actually don't find her attractive at all, lol. |

A sidenote on the racial issue- perhaps it might be best to refer to people by their specific racial identity- Chinese, Fillipino/Fillipina, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese and such, rather than disregard their distinct natures and label them all as Asians?

The shitty racist rap band AzN Pride claims they're all Asian, and thinks that's what counts...
You can find their 2Pac rip-off "Got rice?" on Kazaa...

Why the hell do I have to choose one? Can I pick all of them?
And on the correct term, maybe Eastern Asian women would be a more specific and (I hope) non-offensive way to describe the ethnic look you're referring to? I've really lost track of the current politically correct terms for various races. If I ever use an offensive term, it's unintentional. I usually avoid using racial descriptioins for that reason. |

Have to agree on the Jaymee Ong picture.... Damn..
as far as the hottest asian person, I would be hard to pin one. The hottest ones I have seen have been in person, because in the pictures they either look really bad, or really good (perfect example, Hamasaki Ayumi). So, I will hold off on any votes purely based on pictures until I see them in person
