Government: Fuck Profanity
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/.../~c108XXKE8x::
and http://bureaucrash.com/ WARNING: The following text from a bill submitted by Rep. Doug Ose (R-Sacramento) may be offensive. Just remember, he uses profanity to save us from it. Quote: HR 3687 Quote:
What happens on C SPAN when the House Clerk reads the verbage of the House Resolution? Recentlly, a friend fo mine was trying to cut back on profanity. I told him that I would use it twice as much so he wouldn't have to. |

It's interesting that this Congressman is from California, probably the least likely place for this bill to originate.
On the bright side, 'dick licker' appears safe, as does good old 'pussy.'

CSPAN isn't covered by the same regulations that broadcast TV is.
Cable is much looser, note Southpark Movie being broadcast late at night.

Yet another stupid asshole cocksucker tryin' to tell a motherfucker what shit can and can't come out of their mouths. Piss on that cunt. BITCH.
*grins* He's got to be kidding, right? I mean, they're going to pass a federal law on what we can say? How does that affect cable stations that have programming with such language, and how does that factor in theaters, etc? Also, if you use such a word, what are you violating, exactly? You're being "profane"? What's the case on something like that, promoting the moral decay of others via your potty mouth? This seriously pisses me off, and I'll be damned if my fucking goverment is going to tell me I can't curse. EDIT: I'm also VERY surprised there isn't a provision for saying "goddamn" or some variant, seeing as this is probably all spurred by the religious fucks anyway. This bill in no way limits what YOU can say on the street (from what I can gather) just limits (apparently.. ) what one can broadcast.
Does this apply to anchor-people only ? Or will they have to start chopping anything on tv with profanity on it ? And can't the supreme court strike it down, because it violates the 1st Ammendment (AFAIK freedom of expression) ?
