awww man, this sucks
so, there I was, poised at around 230 posts, almost ready to get my own avatar. And what happens? the hard drives get wiped out, Halx has to spend untold numbers of hours rebuilding the site, and I have to start all over in my quest for an avatar.

Actually Sion, its a huge conspiracy against you to not allow you to have an avatar. So expect the hardrives to "fail" once again when you are on the brink.

Don't worry about post count or avatars or whatever. It's what you put into your posts that counts, not the number.
My biggest regret was losing some of my posts without backing them up. Alot of people put there hearts and and soul into some posts. Ah well. The intention and feeling remains even if the posts are history.

I usually turn off avatars. Some are truly sick and wrong, some are fun, but most are a distraction to the true meaning of the TFP, which is what you write.

Eh, if you really want an avatar that badly, cut out a picture and use a gluestick to paste it to your moniter . I was kinda almost there... but oh well. I agree with Lebell--the avatar doesn't mean much... it's what you write.

Yeah, I had a lot of post count, myself. But what upset me the most was my "record" reply count on two of my posts in the titty board. I had the top two (by reply counts) and they just kept staying on the front page. Now I don't even remember where I got them from, so I can't regenerate that ...

ah, contrare. the avatar means alot. Especially for those of us with low self esteem, teetering on the edge of sanity. You mentally healthy types think it is so easy....

I had a bunch of posts (1100), but I never put up an Avatar. Then I finally found one I liked and put it up. Then the sites CRaSheS. I think it was my fault the site crashed. Maybe the drive got scared when I actually figured out which Avatar I wanted and how to uplaod it. Sorry Halx.

I kinda like the fact that it all crashed, It's like on Fight Club where they destroyed the Credit Card Companies to set everyone back to Square one.
