Online Degrees

Do buisnesses look at these the same as regular colleges? Or what about schools like Baker College that aren't quite the same as a university?

In other words, are they as good as the real thing?

In principle they are as good as their reputation. Schools with longer histories have a stronger reputation (for good or bad) than unkown schools.
I would guess that if the degrees are not the same, an online degree would be looked upon as something slightly inferior to the 'real' degree.
But still "Harvard" sounds better then "Eyedonutno school" in smallsville Utah...

I'd say that any degree that you buy without really studying is a bad thing. If you actually study, you've earned the degree, no matter where you get it.

I saw a degree from an online school posted inside of a business in the mall. The degree was in general business. The actual business was a jewelry stand...

Something has to be better than nothing. My deal was that i knew I needed to go to class to do well, if peopel are more discilplined than I was then good for them.

That'd depend on whether or not they know they're not the same as regular colleges.

There are some fine "colleges" without graduate programs and I don't imagine going to a non-University for a "University degree" would be a disadvantage.

Depends on the college/university.

Regis University in Denver (www.regis.edu) offers an online degree that is indistinguisable from a classroom based degree.

Yet I know that many employers turn their noses up at University of Phoenix "Degrees"

Ive often thought about Open University or an online degree in the vague hope that I could somehow actually do my PhD (I am too in debt to go back to uni)

If anyone has any info on online degree's, esp research degree's, I'd be really interested too!

A few of my friends work for the company that sells these online Regis degrees. I think some employers turn up their noses at these too.
