I've never shoplifted but it annoys me when people do. I've had more than one friend who did so, especially while teenagers. In reality, the stores will just make up for the loss by increasing prices or reducing service so I guess they were in a way stealing from me.

I've never shoplifted, but I've had several friends get caught doing it. It's not worth it. Just work for the shit you want. Don't steal, not because it's a sin, but because it's just plain wrong.
However, software.....

Hmmm... A lot of people seem to take the holier than thou attitude, because they've managed to get through life without stealing. Kudos to them, but I can't personally afford that attitude. There a mental disorders that can cause a person to steal...problems at home, crying out through doing wrong...bipolar disorder, cleptomania... I don't condone stealing, but unless I am familiar with a person's reasons for doing it, I don't exactly judge it either. Or better yet, I judge the act, not the person.

ooh i have a story to contribute..
we were at colosus (gigantic movie theater) and it was after lord of the rings 2 (oh so boring) and my friend was taking a taxi since there wasnt enough room in my truck for us so we were waiting inside.. it was like 1230am ... anyways my friend was thirsty and the place was closed so he said he was going to go grab a slurpee.. i told him he was an idiot and walked over to the door to see if the taxi had come yet.. it hadnt so i headed back and met him along the way sporting his free slurpee.. so we went back over by the ladies and he let his girlfriend have some then he took it back.. they were sitting on the floor.. and these two guys come over/down whatever from somewhere and say can you please leave .. im like chris your a fucking idiot.. and then the gaurd d guy or whatever hits the slurpee out of my friends hand and splatters it all over me and im like... what the fuck man.. (i hadnt done anything wrong) so im covered in slurpee and pissed off.. so the gaurd looks at me and is like "oh sorry" in a sarcastic pissed off voice.. which made me angrier anyways my friends started to leave and i pickup the slurpee and throw it at the two guys who were heading the other way... i proceed to walk to the door and they run towards me grab me and throw me out and im like.. fuck you guys.. so thats that story.. my friend wanted to go back and apologize but i was too mad to let him.. and then in the parking lot the secuirity guy came too me when i was getting in my truck and tells me he had to chase someone away who was doing something under my truck.. yeah... eventful night |

Heh I feel like i know crimals compared to what you people have talked about. I know someone who works at a huge department store. Like a super k-mart and it gets a lil complicated. What they did was one of them worked there, and he had his friend grab all kinda of stuff for him and whatever the guy wanted. Some of with included dvd player mp3 player, dvd, and such. The guy that worked there would ring the person up and ask if they wanted to apply for thier visa card. Now everyday seems like every store has thier own credit card. And after that they would suspend the transaction and tell the guy to go to guest service to get the instant credit application finished which then they guy just walked outa of the store with more then $1000 worth of stuff. ::shrug:: i guess thats pretty bad

you all are holier than i
first instance was my first day in kindergarten (unintentional i swear). i followed my friend to the lunch line and proceeded to take a lunch and just kept walking. didn't pay nothing. my mom brought me food and was surprised that i had food. well, since then, i've gotten ballsy-ier and ballys-ier. but like they say, you eat what you steal, and you'll never be full. i've taken many things and scammed out many others. the most notable being this... i walked out of a large electronics store with a palm pilot. the new trendy Vx. i showed it to my g/f's brother and he thought it was cool so i gave it to him. wanting it badly tho, i went back and took another one. luckily, i have not gotten caught. but since then, my g/f's (now ex) talk of karma and morals have put a cease to this. thankfully before i got caught.

For quick cash I used to, but I've resolved to never do stuff like that again. I have a buddy who used to as well. Got stuff like hard drives, video cards, flash memory sticks, etc. We don't do this stuff anymore though. The local Best Buys put all their flash memory sticks (for cameras, etc) in those plastic boxes because of us.

My friends and I and my brother over 4 years probably have stolen hundreds of dollars worth of candy and PORN from a Korean owned store down the street, but we all called it "the gook store" heh.
We all would ride our bikes down there and go in casually wearing cargo pants, usually about 3-5 of us. It was usually busy so they really couldn't watch us well. We all would discreetly stuff candy as much as we could fit, also maybe a porno mag into our pant leg from the magazine shelf. We became very good at not getting noticed. Then we would buy a couple candy bars and leave, usually to a vacant lot a block away and show each other all of our loot. We did this almost 2-3 times a week. Good times. It all ended one day when we decided to go jack some shit stoned. We were being careless then my dumbass friend tried to jack this litte key chain pipe, RIGHT FUCKING IN FRONT OF CASHIER. The Korean starting yelling at him in Korean language and hit him with his hand very rapidly. We ran our asses out of there with candy falling out, grabbed our bikes and hauled ass. Hid at a friends house paranoid and still stoned freaking out, looking out the windows watching for cops for hours. This incident didn't stop us from stealing and thought it was funny as hell after wards. I grew out of stealing, But not my brother and two of my friends, at this moment their asses are in prison for stealing $100,000 worth of dirtbikes from Olympia, using a stolen U-Haul truck -- Made the top news story here in the Northwest. Also other charges for stealing dirtbikes from 2 shops in Tacoma and 1 in Bremerton. |
