why do people belittle you when you post your opinion on this forum?

straightforward and simple since i've joined this forum i've been called a liberal, a tree-hugger, told to shut the fuck up and many other things, none of which bother me, but i'm just curious why people feel the need to belittle other people for posting thier opinion on a forum? (the shame sharing your opinion on a forum)

I doubt very much that you would have been told to "shut the fuck up" via an open forum because it just doesnt happen.(The rare, very rare occassions that it has happenned then the reply has been deleted)
If you have been told this via a pm then talk to one of the Mods because thats what they are there for.

Here is the bottom line.

Opinions are like arseholes

Everyone has one.

Post away and enjoy the TFP for what it is and think about what forum you are in.

Nonsense is just that.

Political threads require a more thoughtfull approach.

Have fun.

Quit being so sensitive you liberal tree-hugger.

Seriously this is the most flame controlled forum I've ever been to...you think this is bad you should try some other places that allow flaming. If it persists just ask a mod to deal with it or put them on ignore.

Yes? Well I'd say automotive magazine writers/testers have a a bit more knowledge and experience than you to make that comparison.
No? Ok then shut the fuck up.
and the worst part is it happened in motors and of course nothing was done. i love the forum but come on is this necessary. i have lost my cool once and immediatley appoligized for my indiscretion. i agree it is one of the best forums out there most of my posts are in politics and it seems the people in there are more respectful other than nonsense i love that maybe this is one bad apple as the saying goes.

report that shit...I know for a fact if this was seen it would be gone already. I've had legit posts removed for their controversial nature so I know an outright flame would be dealt with swiftly.

Unless it happens in politics, which has pretty much come to be expected, it should be reported, and things will be done about it. If it happened in politics.... well, it's politics. Fights happen in politics no matter what your opinion is.

On the topic of opinions, there's a general rule that i think it's easy to follow... if you don't SUPPORT an opinion, you DESERVE to have it shot down. Now I'm sure that you have supported your opinions when you've posted them but this is just a general guideline, as NOTHING on this board annoys me more than people wasting valuable posts space with stupid fucking 2 word "[insert here] sucks!" posts. I can't fucking stand that.

ok, carry on then. best of luck to you in getting reimbursement (not the best word but it was all i could think of) on that last flame, s_j.

i too have come to expect it in politics things get pretty heated in there sometimes, but in motors talking about cars. i hate the two word posts myself and they are not even worth the time it takes to reply. thanks for the support curious to see if the mods will do anything.

Give me a count and cite each example of when this has happened.

Ok this is not something you post in the main forum. This is something you bring to the personal attention of a moderator. Got it?

So now while you're waiting around for the mods to do something, also remember that they aren't paid to do what they do. Nobody's your servant here.
