To all of you military folks
Angel's thread in the Member's Playground got me thinking about all of you who have served or are serving in the various branches of the armed forces. I chose not to because of the long training needed to become a physician, although plenty of others have. The closest I did come was all the time I spent at the VA in med school and during residency training.
I feel it is important that I express my gratitude and respect for the sacrifices you have made and the risks you are willing to take. Every last one of you is a hero in my book. I know that this is an international forum and, while I am an American, I include members of our allies armed forces as well. |
absolutely!
Thanks for reminding us to express our heartfelt appreciation... |
Hell yeah!
Didn't want to send y'all into action, and I wish all of you deployed return safe, soon, and healthy. |
Woo Hoo!
*Stands up and applauds greytone for a positive thread* There are many men and women who WANT to serve their country. It is in their blood, the core of their soul. And although many of us are home waiting, wondering, worrying, and missing our loved ones with every fiber of our beings, we also are a proud bunch. I have an extreme amount of pride in every man and woman in our armed forces. And a deep appreciation for all they do and sacrifice. |
Thank you. I go to a very liberal campus, and have been called many things while in uniform. Baby-killer, a soldier of habitat for inhumanity, and many other things, just when I'm walking to class. It's always nice to have support from the other 99% of the population.

FYI -- One of my twins is coming home from Afghanistan this week. The other is most likely shipping out within the month. I'm proud of the service they both provide us! |
I just want to thank all of the people that are out there protecting our freedom. You don't always hear it, but you have no idea how much we appreciate everything you do. Thanks!

As a Canadian, I want to express my profound thanks and undying gratitude to all the members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
I also have the same feelings for our Canadian troops in Afghanistan and other parts of the world. I do believe that our boys (men) of our Armed Forces should have been backing the U.S. war in Iraq. Thats water under the bridge now, so all I can do now is say thanks to you all. |
Thanks to all those that are serving our country :)

200th Post!
Thanks Guys, as an Airforce...um..Airman, I usually don't have to be very close to the "Action" but the being away from home and in strange lands does suck sometimes. Thanks for the support, and thanks to the TFP for being there to remind us all who are (Far) away from home what we're missing! (as well as being a second home on the net)

While I don't necessarily agree with the administration's use of the military (regardless of whom is in office) that's no reason to heckle a man in uniform. I'm glad you've managed to keep a positive attitude about serving your country even in the face of ignorant rhetoric. I, for one, am very proud of anyone who has served. Thank you all very very much. Bahh! |
Thanks to all of our men and women in uniform for your courage and sacrifice. Stay strong, and stay proud.
|
*sniff* thanks for all the encouragement everyone. What a great thread to start my day with.
|
I don't believe in the war, but I do believe in the people fighting in it. Come home safe and sound.
