SNNNNOOOWWW!!!!

Ack- we got it!

Here in Western Washington, we have had the coldest days with penty of snow & ice- but we're expected a dump of snow again tonight- hardly any schools are open, businesses are preparing to close early and to be closed tomorrow.
Last night it got down to a chilling 13 degrees here- brrrrr.
And, to top it off, the furnace broke last week, and because of the holidays, the furnace guy could not get parts in until today or tomorrow (tomorrow they will be here to fix it)
So we have tons of heaters going and we are bundled up- ready to ride it out.
Thought I'd share- anyone else in this same experience?

It's -20 Celius here and I'm freezin my ass off! Even my wool sock doesn't do shit!

I like it, while it coming down, it's calming.

After it's finished, it's beautiful.

It's the ugly cleanup after the plows after cleared and sanded the roads, that I hate.

Oh well, season's change
I appreciate each for its own.

Snow. Snow sucks. Oh sure, it's nice to look at, and if you want to strap waxed boards to your feet and fall down a mountain, it's the very thing, but, overall, it is nothing but a pain in my ass. It's a solid 50% of the reason I moved from CT to VA.

Just visited central CO and had 33 inches in two days...it was also -10F. With conditions like that, it's nice to look at but ya can't do much outside without some good gear. It was painfully cold.

Here in IL we were supposed to get 8-10 inches total, and we only got about 3...which upsets me since we didn't have any snow for x-mas.

But now that we've gotten our first snowfall, I'm sure that it won't stop till about mid-April!

My children are loving it. I am tolerating it. It is nice to have an extended Winter break -- but I'd much rather have the rain and work (I'm a teacher) to fill my empty days with my love away.

The heater story did remind me of the time we came home to 104 degrees and the heat pump broken. It hit a high of 114 that week and it took another week to get the pump fixed. I think it is easier to warm up then to cool down -- either is the pits!

I'm with you Soul. I live just outside of Seattle myself. Funny we have not somehow met (yeah right.!) While others scoff at how little snow shuts down Seattle, I've seen the same thing happen in other cities, which I find just as funny.

Before we sold our house, we, too, had our furnace go out in November. It sucked. Not only was it cold, the guys doing the work sucked.

Good luck. Hope its over for you soon.

Yesterday, we had 7cm of snow Colleges and universities were cancelled.

I really didn't think that it was enough snow to cancel school though

Saw in the paper this morning and thought it was funny that there was a picture of a couple of cars in ditches. It really wasn't much snow. I guess a lot of the drivers here suck, but we don't get much snow that often. So drivers aren't very experienced when it comes to driving in the snow.

Today, it rained for a large part of the day. The snow turned to all slush and walking in campus was brutal. Extremely wet. Temperatures aren't as cold though.

I HATE SNOW I also hate cold and right now we have both. Sitting with a temp of 7F or -14C and it feels like -4F or -20C.The last couple days there have been cold warnings the news reports have said if you can avoid it dont go out. The police in the cities were going around looking for homeless people and taking them to shelters.
The only plus about cold is if you have someone to curl up under the blankets with and keep each other warm.
