I emailed the fine people at Coca-Cola and got a pretty quick reply.
This is what they have to say: \begin coke's reply\ The date on the packaging is the "Optimum Taste Date." This is the date by which we recommend you consume the beverage for the best taste. The complete date code is located on the bottom of cans and on the neck of bottles. For our diet brands, the optimum taste period is 13 weeks. For sugar-sweetened brands, this period is 39 weeks. Since there is nothing in our Company brands that should spoil, we expect that our brands are safe to consume beyond the date. \end coke's reply\ So, Coke says drink it... but since we haven't heard back from the guy, maybe he DID drink it and is too sick to check the board... |

I saved a bunch of the Star Wars Pepsi cans...a couple of them leaked, though, and I got syrup all over the shelf...boo.

crappy aluminum? After reading that email from Coke I say drink it and let us know what happens and how it tastes.
